  1. Nice, Mark! How'd you shape the internal part of the foam?
  2. Hey, Jeff! How about something akin to the "Show Me Your Bag" section, like "Show Me Your Rate Card?" Sound people get to show their rates without drawing trolls and flamers. If someone really wants to ask a question, or discuss an undercut or overcharge, there's always the option to use the general forum, or as Joshua points out, a nice PM...
  3. It's a puzzler. You're mastering TC from the 688?
  4. Hi, John! I've never worked with the 688. What I found on the 788T was that, if I generate the new folder first and THEN format the CF, it puts any newly created files in the old folder. If I format a mirror CF card FIRST, then create the new folder for the day, the files go to the correct place. It happens every time I change the order and I believe it has nothing to do with power or anything else. I'm guessing that it has to do with the protocol of the machine once a card has been formatted. I don't know why. A bug? I format the next day's CF card at the end of each night, to avoid this, and so far, all's good.
  5. Nice work, Rachel! Those TA3s are TEENY.
  6. CL-13! A Sound Devices CL-9 with P&G faders...
  7. Dunno if anybody else has seen these, but there are now new mounting solutions/accessories for the LocLine modular hose stuff. There's a cool floor/desk mount rig: http://www.modularhose.com/Assistive-Technology/mh-Parts-and-Supplies/580001 and a bunch of other nice mounting solutions... http://www.modularhose.com/Assistive-Technology/mh-Tablet-and-Device-Solutions Enjoy!
  8. Somebody on this board recommended one of these for the 0012, Jeremiah. Works great! I get three perfectlly fitting circles of topstick out of a 1" tab: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OMYCXK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00
  9. Slick! I bet, if you strain reliefed it with a ziptie or something, you could get away with even less shell, since the contacts don't run any farther than before the striped part, or you could just use: http://www.neutrik.com/en/audio/plugs-and-jacks/px-series/np3rx-b

  12. +1 to what BAB414 says; Definitely get in touch with the office directly. I recommend you begin the application process as well, since it will probably increase your chances of getting hired on a union job. Once you've made contact with the local, contact any union sound people you know. You never know who might be looking to fill a spot... Good luck! Karl
  13. Peter, there's a drastic shortage of boom ops and utilities in NYC right now. If you have any interest in making the move to union work, I'd recommend you get in touch with Local 52 and see if you can work on permit. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. The Trams are great, when you get a good one. My understanding is that there were sometimes inconsistencies with the production of the TR-50, which might explain the crap sound. Incorrect wiring might also be a culprit.
  15. Funny, the return channel meter on the right looks fine...
  16. Long Island beach day. Yup. Linda Murphy on boom.
  17. Another option would be a hardwire feed from the 633 to video village with the transmitter on the playback operator's cart. Karl
  18. Forty-track Toline strikes again!
  19. That's a lot of extruded aluminum. What's your estimate of total weight, before gear?
  20. And I am now 100% sure that Andrew is right about that, having walked over and examined the connector and mount myself. Sorry for the misinformation. Karl Wasserman NYC
