I took a CMX Video Editing course around that time. I was REALLY bad at it D.

Do you think the government gives a f**k about you? D.

Oh cool! Just talking to a guy at API (probably not born before 1988) about the time (lots of time) I once spent rehabbing a, probably, 80-90 input API console that had been damaged in a big fire at some studio or another. Camolin and Q-tips. For days and days. Our shop smelled like a fire-place for months afterwards. We got it up and running although if it had been me, I wouldn't have bought it. I am sure that, even with our hard work, it was never quite right. Way before 1988. Those were the days. D.

Ah, the last great mystery of the early motion picture world. It will never be proven one way or the other but makes for a continued fabulous story. I always loved the Otto Preminger story myself. D.

    Fantasy Studios RIP

I am saying this with, of course, nothing other than a thought coming out of my internet mouth (and we know how well that goes sometimes) but is there any possibility of a co-op situation where some/all old/new tenants become owners? It might be an idea to float. I do know that the Bay Area is always at or near the top in real estate prices but. . . . One 70-year-old theater here in Seattle is or maybe was destine for the wrecking ball to allow for (even more) hi-rise apartments but the community might just be able to get it on the Historical Registry and save it, and maybe, the neighborhood that surrounds it. Good on them! D.

Exactly the way I feel about music editing. I just don't have the temperament for it, and because I don't/won't do it, when I do, it's even slower than a death crawl. :) D.
  12. Good on you for thinking all this through so thoroughly. I, like others here, would warn you against any wireless if possible. And are you typically feeding a house reinforcement system of some sort or do you have your own PA? To put together a little self-controlled PA is a great idea, I think. But try to keep it wired as much as possible. You might get away, maybe, with one wireless headset mic but as Phillip says, you WILL experience wireless problems, and they might be severe. So have a wired plan in place as a back up. Other than that, all wires, all the time. If someone wants to film you, is that for your use? If not, let them deal with a simple wired XLR "main" feed from you, and leave it up to them to configure it so that it works any way they like. And let the result go. You will not be able to cover all the possibilities without making "sound" your job. If you feel that "sound" is that important, hire an engineer with a kit. Probably not what you wanted to hear (and NICE graphics BTW ) but it's (close to) the truth. Best, D.

Tell them to supply the mics. You'd be glad to plug 'em in. D.

Ursa Pro Mini AES not working

OMG. I didn't know that. I'm not a Zaxcom fan for other reasons, but. . . why would they think that was a good idea? They must have a reason, engineering-wise, right? D

Ursa Pro Mini AES not working

No, really. Zaxcom doesn't have a "normal" 32k sampling rate, right? D.
