  1. Hi there! If anyone here in the Greater LA area needs a boom operator or a utility guy, my hands/skills are available for the foreseeable future. I also have my own humble mixing gear and experiences, but I'm still building towards what producers usually demand. But I want to be back on set, connecting with more experienced sound ops to learn more about our department, this profession, and the industry as a whole. As a boom operator, I'm a tall and slim guy, so getting above and out of frame is no problem. As a utility, I'm learning new ways to quickly wire, wrangle, and coordinate equipment every day. In short - if you're looking for an eager, experience-hungry sound assistant in the LA area, please drop me a line anytime. PM me or check out my website for a full list of credits, equipment, and demos. Thanks! Matt Brodnick Web: bit.ly/mbsound Resume
  2. Price-to-performance, they're hard to beat.
  3. Hi guys, I've been using a random foam windscreen for my Senny 416. I think it was originally for the ME66 because I need to add an extra rubber band to it to stay gripped to the mic. The sound comes in is a bit muffled though, and doesn't capture sibilance well. I noticed that these screens are typically around $50, but is that the norm, or are there other cost-effective alternatives? I like using these in low-profile situations that do not require the extra protection from my Softie. Thanks!
  4. I'm booming and my arms turn into jelly. The mic falls onto talent and kills him/her. Oh and my gear bag has once erupted into flames
  5. So in the football stadium sequence, Bane is seen holding an SM style Lectrosonics transmitter clutched in his hand, as he announces the fate of the crowd's crippling future. Without knowing what it is, most viewers would blow it off so... Blooper or Intentional?
  6. Tom, thank you so much for the clarification. Best, Matt
  7. Thanks, But does anyone else have this issue? If its not the HDP2 I'm worried about, it would be the current 302 and any future gear I would plug into the Remote Audio BDS kit.

I love this. In for one!
  9. Awesome, I'm glad it works well. And thanks to everyone for confirming the compatibility. I'm guessing these frequencies are good in North America in general?
  10. I recently switched to a Remote Audio BDS system with an NP1 battery. My Tascam HDP2 has a power reading option in the menu, and it reads 16.85V at first use of the day. The display rolls and blurs. This doesn't occur on AA batteries. Is this normal? Coming from a computer hardware background, this sounds very high. Thanks!
  11. Thanks Eric. I'll scan and cross my fingers
  12. Hi Everyone, I tried searching, but no hits. Do Sennheiser G2/G3 wireless kits work below the border? Specifically, I have B block frequencies. Thanks! Matt
  13. Thanks for the writeup Marc, I'll also being reviewing these cans soon.
  14. Yes, I'm also curious. Especially because these products are apparently developed in Switzerland.
  15. You grammars good. But yeah, this happens on Youtube/Web content all the time.
  16. You're very welcome. I wonder where/how the VT5000 can be useful though. It sounds like it compresses the focus and background acoustics.
  17. Hi Everyone, For those of you who are wondering what the Voice Technologies VT5000 sounds like, I made a review for a tech website I'm freelancing for, "Bright Side of News" I'm pretty awkward in front of the camera, but the point of the video was to compare it side by side against a Sennheiser 416. 480p minimum on a non-mobile devices sounds best. Because of publisher deadlines I had to rush the review a bit. So I forgot to test the female voice, wind handling, and some other tests. For the most part, the VT5000 sounds a bit nasaly as if you're hearing a computer microphone across Skype. I also had to do a bit of audience hand-holding since the majority of the site's readers are into computer hardware, and not entertainment gear. If you have any other questions, I still have the mic with me, and can test what I can. Enjoy, Matt
  18. I wonder if an Indie crew will try using one on set
