  1. Update 3/16: Poll is now closed, and t-shirts have been ordered. I will update everyone once they are ready to ship. Thanks!
  2. Diego - Great. Send me an email to remind me just in case. For anyone else attending the RAMPS party, please send me a reminder. Cheers Matt
  3. If your runner is ok wearing those iPod arm holders, I fit the transmitter in there, depending on the size. With proper taping and slack, you can minimize the cord noise.
  4. Of course I'll bring some over
  5. Hi Johnny, please send me an email at the address above, and I'll add you to the wait list. Thanks! Matt
  6. Craig, Sounds good. Email me at shirt [at] bamfsound.com , with your location, and what sizes you're looking for. I'll add you to the list. Thanks!
  7. Update: Poll is now closed, and t-shirts have been ordered. I will update everyone once they are ready to ship. Thanks! Update 3/11/14: I'm looking to finalize a tally by this Friday, March 14th. Thanks! Hi All, I'll be printing a new batch of "Sound People" shirts this month. These shirts are now all around the world, representing our herd and how although we face challenges against other depts, we always return in greater strength. Like the first round, I want to get an idea of how many to print. If you're interested in one, or a few, please fill out this quick poll: [url="http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgoo.gl%2FL9a4lh&h=9AQGU9Ih1&enc=AZNldPhXkN5lNkDWCl7XvsmQ1drP6pcaDj7t4Ty3MTKyL-mHMkX_Ausf9ue1WsM3eUsHamWQruvF6bobYDrWxN4HaMfMe7ThmaTIfQQgTHJeoetCN0GP-nTAtp7Fra3z7uRFe8gBIj5jH0emh6x7dgro%5B/font] Thanks! - Matt
  8. Thanks Crew and Rich, I appreciate that. I'm not union yet, as much I'd like to be, so that's partly the reason why I need days at any level to move forward. But if he ever needs a guy, I'll message you my info!
  9. Like the title states, I'm looking for more experience as a boom/2nd boom/utility in scripted, narrative productions. Being a one or two man team is exciting at times, but I need more exposure in these fields. This is both for personal growth and to expand my "days" options towards the 695. If you're a seasoned mixer who needs an experience-hungry, knowledgeable, tall (6'3''), 2nd or 3rd guy, let's get in contact and I can send you my resume. Thanks, Matt
  10. So what I'm hearing is that the CSA will pretty much only go off of payroll company information, regardless of letters or secondary proof from production?
  11. Hi everyone, I'm looking towards joining the LA 695, but was wondering how payroll companies like EP report your job positions to the CSA. Let's say I want to join as a Utility, start from the bottom and hit the ground running, gaining experience and mentors. If my non-union credits have been all over the place, but always within the sound dept, will CSA only look for specifically "Sound Utility" credit days, or is there a way to encompass my total eligible non-union sound experience into the report (well over the requirement amount)? I know letters from the production company help, but most of these indie productions, as we all know, end their LLC immediately after the project ends. Anyway, I'm looking towards this step in my career, and appreciate any guidance. Happy New Year! Thanks, Matt
  12. Blocks 20-24 work in Beijing. 25 and above, I'm not sure. And as always, make sure your NP1's are properly stored on your flights, and keep it simple when explaining your gear. Also keep in mind that China runs on 220V / 50 Hz power.
  13. A wise man once told me: "Don't be a dick."
  14. Instead of actually inserting it into my ear canal, I just rest the earphone in the gap between ear and headphone on very low volume. If I don't immediately 'copy' on walkie, well, it's probably because I'm occupied (doing my job).
  15. Hi Phil, Thanks for addressing our feedback! I look forward to my upgrade kit.
  16. I've seen this too. Granted, you'll never see these out on the field, but having smaller setups/crews for secondary web media is becoming more prevalent for networks.
  17. Thanks for the tips guys. My reports are usually handwritten (especially for the notes/comments), but this will be a nice backup.
  18. Actual weight is irrelevant once a director turns the shot into a series...
  19. A lot of postings recently and bartering for studio time. I've only been on the producing side a few times, but does renting these "budget" studios (most of the time, a green-screen wall in a very reverberant garage), even come close to the rates that we usually demand?
