  • About
Audio mixer for studio and locations. Have gear, will travel. Hey, I'm not above doing boom!
  1. Shoot, I would have liked one of those T's! Gotta remember not to book around NAB next year (wait, corrected).
  2. So, perhaps I will try again. If any South Florida sound mixers would like to get together for coffee, tea or ice water I would welcome the opportunity to exchange ideas and just casually make some new connections. Best Regards, Todd Reckson
  3. Thanks Jeff and everyone for their thoughts on this subject. The reason I posted with just those three boxes and not the Zax was strictly a budget choice. Also, I dont want to be in the business of providing sync boxes at all but the requests just keep rolling in. When I suggest that camera department should be providing the boxes I get a "deer in the headlights" stare, silence and then guttural murmurs about what the last guy/gal did for them. Ok, I can add them to the rental then, right?...
  4. whoa, there is no need for attacks of any sort here. Please lets all play nice. T.
  5. Philip, I simply meant that the schoeps needs to be more properly cared for. I wouldn't let mine get wet, dropped, abused, insulted or left unattended (just like a royal), the consequences might be too harsh. I don't worry about the Audix and I don't use the mk012 for dialog just as backups.
  6. courtesy feature for scripty or the errant 5d.
  7. Thanks for the link Philip. I did read through that the other day. I am going to use one of these devices on (every) camera (or mix and match as needed) but the lockit/sbt/buddy will be jammed from 664 at start, again at lunch and stay on camera. The wireless transmit would simply be a courtesy feature.
  8. I have the MK012's and they are ok for drum overheads and the like but not so great on dialog. I went through a number of the Russian mics to find a pair that sounded close. The Audix has more reach, sounds good on dialog with less gain, is more uniform from mic to mic and is my go to for uncertain int situations. Obviously, cmc641 is the king but also needs to be treated as royalty.
  9. Greetings all, I am trying to decide which piece of kit to add to my collection for HD shoots. Was going to just get SBT but for just a couple bucks more the Buddy transceiver looks pretty compelling. I wouldn't be replacing my time code slate, just adding the ability for IOS devices to have tc as well. Any input would be appreciated. Best Regards, Todd
  10. Very nice. I have been doing this for years, learned from an acquaintance I met at Audio Services (now Pro Sound) in NYC. Though I still like to put some mole skin on the back of the mic in case the fabric happens to dip down. Cheers! T.
  11. Greetings Everyone, My name is Todd Reckson and I am reaching out to fellow mixers to find new ways to increase my client base. I am an NYU Film alumni and have been mixing (on and off) for many years interspersed with other production roles. Whether working on features, videos, corporate material or student films I always try to be a source of calm. It would be a pleasure to meet some fellow mixers in SFLA, perhaps we can help each other out or a very least get to know one another. I am based in West Palm but will work anywhere, anytime. If you have a moment please take a look at my site and give me some feedback. www.recksonproductions.com If you are inclined, drop me a line and we can have a dialog. All the best, Todd Reckson
  12. Thanks for the post...cant wait to get my 664 and now I know how I'm going to keep it nested!
