    IMAX 3D Digital Camera Timecode?

Actually you can't in a professional level shoot 3D (with 2 cameras) without tri-synch level. The sensor read out has to be in synch. Your camera crew should have a box for their cameras but I don't know their setup...

Not quite true because it depends on real life test. You can have different results depending on the characteristics of the sensor you use (Mysterium, Mysterium-X, Dragon, Helium, Monstro or Gemini) So you can't apply one theoretical rool to all of them => cooler means not better. On this test the DoP found out that 44C (wich is quite high) was the sweet spot for his Helium camera : http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?169151-Monstro-sweet-spot-temp&p=1816359&viewfull=1#post1816359 You (or your AC) have to make your own tests. I use 46C with a very low fan noise and very good results on the Weapon Magnesium Dragon. Patrick PS: are you working for Arri?

AATON Cantar Mini VS. Sonosax SX-R4+

I bet Beauviala would vote for Sonosax SX-R4+ Pat

Try to call Sonosax directly. They probably could help you out or give a hint who could lend you a test recorder. Pat

Could this be built like modules? Add another 8 tracks by attaching another pannel on the left side?

    Red Helium Fan

Could you explain your "common knowledge"? My findings are it's best to reach blackshade target temp or have it a bit hotter than to have a cold sensor. Pat

    Red Helium Fan

Strange reading as this is all a mix up between DSMC1 and DSMC2 bodies. Epic is where you can choose the fan speed % but Weapon (wich can also be Helium as Helium is a sensor name) you choose the target temp of your sensor in C but not the fan speed in %. In DSMC2 bodies like Weapon, Epic-W, Raven, Scarlet-W (W for Weapon) you set the target temperature from the sensor wich is maxed out at 48C. I usually use Adaptive mode set to 46C. Weapon has a heater on the sensor to get at temp rapidly even in cold environment. When you foresee a shooting in low temp (-10C) you could a) lower your sensor heat and black shade callibration to 30C or keep the heat of the body by obstructing slighlty the heat intake. If the camera gets overheated it will get laud fastly and you will hear it so, I think, there is no risk to block the vent. For older bodys called DSMC1 like Epic-M, Epic-X, Scalet, you still have the opportunity to work with the FanPlate wich is the best tool out there to control your camera temp and internal fan speed. The older versions of the lower fan did much less noise. Nowadays the DSMC2 bodies from RED make much less noise than the previous DSMC1 bodies. The important factor is to get a as high as possible sensor temp callibration and with the help of the camera crew ask for that. The more heat the sensor has, the best picture noise response it has, this could also be an argument to increase the sensor temp. See you Pat PS: Monstro, Gemini, Helium, Dragon, are all sensors wich don't tell in wich camera they are in.

    Abisonic Microphones

For the info, the SX-R4+ has an AMBEO MIC input option card. https://www.sonosax.ch/product/024286/

Does anyone have a picture of the MS combo? I just spotted my stolen recorder after your eBay warning! My CCM41 CCM8 MS rig was in a cinela Zephyx. I also had 2 SMB BLOCK 22 and a dual receiver.

    Don't they already have a patent ? (sorry I couldn't resist)

    Lectrosonics Introduces....................

The good thing is now you can put it on top of the thight costume. (However I wonder how, the fast travelling electrons, will affect the sound quality)

    Alexa Mini TC sync

Wireless focus problem due to he Red body? How do you do that? Your right. People have to know how to use their tools. (ps: I callibrate the Weapon sensor to 47C so the camera can run hotter without fan noise).

    Alexa Mini TC sync

Your right, I'll stop bullying about Alexa. See you. Yes, Arri did hack the RED CEO box-mail. They where bluffed how popular the small body form factor from the Epic was. All areals/steadycam/gimbal job where done with the Epic and then they decided to make the Mini version. It was never intended to be the A camera. As you know there are no "modules" (RED ecosystem) and you still have to put your battery plate on some rods or use velcro to have some kind of power for the Mini. When the Mini launched there was the Weapon form factor and the fan noise was allready solved. If you shoot on the Epic today, I think you can tell the DP to use the Fanplate. It's just another top plate he has to use anyway. Arri is not pushing the industry, remember all the 2k is enough bullshit (they have been forced by the industry (from Netflix to GoPro) to make some 4k cameras (not yet there but they can stick the 4k logo if they want)) but they are putting all the efforts in taking the good job from the others (steadycam, gimbal, follow focus, camera form factor, lenses) and brand it with an Arri logo. Ok enough said. The thread is about TC and the Mini... Pat

    Alexa Mini TC sync

To bad for the fake Alexa then. I've never seen that on my (non Alexa) cameras but if you say so... Ps: for your heat issue on the Epic (wich is an old body that Arri copied) did you test the Fanplate?
