  1. I am yet to see a Weapon in the wild. I actually own a Dragon as part of my other life and have never had any issues with sound or timecode. Is Weapon still a bit buggy? What are the audio and timecode inputs?
  2. I am going to post several things at once to gain some post stats so I can post in the Sell section. You will have to excuse me. Damn that didnt work!
  3. I know the new RX units are small in size but gee whiz it was a design oversight to not have the option to run them via NP style battery/mains power or AA battery without modifying the battery compartment. Sometimes with my older lectros i could hard wire the RX on a long cable closer to the action (if needed) powering off the 2x 9v batteries and then within seconds plug it back into my bag no worries.
  4. Those new wide band badboys are working great for me but what a design fault the battery eliminator thing is!
  5. I find that for most instances dropping fan speed to 30-35 is quiet enough and then id set it to go nuts in standby to cool it down between takes. Often during long takes in warmer locations, the camera will save itself from meltdown and kick in once it gets too hot. It can get annoying for directors doing interview or long takes when this happens.
  6. What is that little lemo sound input??? Does the camera ship with this 5pin lemo, splitting into something more common place?
  7. hi guys. im hoping someone might be able to offer me some advice with a job ive got at the end of this month. im going to be shooting some surfing in HUGE waves and the director wants me to be able to capture good sound while the surfers are communicating and co-ordinating their towing (on jetskis) ive seen many scenes where the recordist has been able to capture sound with radio mics used in splash proof bags etc BUT for my gig id need a 100% watertight setup that could possbily get wiped out by a 20ft wave. sound impossible huh? well it has been done on this directors last shoot doing the same thing however the recordist is located on the other side of the planet to where we will be shooting this new film and i cant seem to contact the guy!! my idea was to have my transmitter AND mic head inside a mini pelican case like youd put an ipod into with the mic taped to the inside of the box to avoide it rattling inside and get it as close to chest of the surfer as i can. i know the sound will be muffled but it will be dry and safe. other than that im stumped for ideas that wont ruin my gear if it does go under a wave. as you can see i need ideas ha ha thanks in advance.
