  1. Definitely go with the Rean connectors. I recently finished soldering a bunch of TA3's and 5's from switchcraft. You need to do an actual crimp on the strain relief, as opposed to the Reans which have a pressure fit like a normal Neutrik xlr. I find the Reans to be easier to connect and disconnect as well...
  2. I have two 4017b's that I've had for a few months now. I A/B'ed with Schoeps CMIT, 416s, CMCMK41 and CS3. Personally, I found it to have a better reach and rejection than any of the mics listed above. The sound is sweet, tho relatively flat and conservative. Very similar to a CMIT. Have had no problems with humidity or noise floor issues. Another perk is the weight. It is by far the lightest mic of what I listed above. Basically half the weight of a 416, which is a serious consideration...especially in the age of video
  3. I have a 2010 Jetta Sportwagen TDI with a Thule rack on top. I am in love. I can fit a full size cart with mixer, recorder, two drawers, cables on sides etc, 5 pelicans, zep, anchor speakers etc in the back. In the Thule I have a rock n roller, 3 mats and a chair. All while getting 40mpg highway ...
  4. Love this!! Nice and tidy Very slick. No concern with IFB on top of receivers?
