  1. I have a MKE50 on a boom running into my Canon C100 for field interviews. I bought a Baby Ball Gag and a Rycote Windjammer that slips over it for windy conditions. When using both my resulting sound isn't as bright, is more muffled, and there aren't many in-camera adjustments to adjust the signal to counter it. What actions can I take to help brighten the signal (either mic placement or mixer adjustments, or Logic/FCPX/Pro Tools effects to add in post)?
  2. Hmm. Jason, your pic gives me second thoughts. Though more expensive, it looks like this is going to be my lighter option. I'll use it with the battsled and SRSLEEVE mounted to the hot-shoe. The Battsled data sheet on Lectro's site says about 9 hours, which seems to be the best option. But, as Christopher referred to above, could I use Canon batteries in the Battsled slot somehow? I have a bunch of LP-E6 batts from my 5D I could use. Second question: are these TA3F-XLR Kortwich cables gunna be my lightest connectivity option? http://goo.gl/RsXs5M Thanks again! Chris.
  3. Peter, Christopher, Jim, Thanks so much for your responses. Each informative and exactly what I was looking for. I knew the SR gives two discreet channels but didn't know it requires external battery, which would bulk it up mounted on the C100. I was already thinking of using my run-bag waist pouch. I currently stash a long lens, cards, batts, etc in it. I use ThinkTank Photo's Change Up bag, and have it in front. I actually have a MixPre-D that I used when I was back shooting DSLR. If I ran two 401s into the MixPre-D, which output port on the MixPre-D would be best to run from my Change Up waist-bag up to the C100's two XLR inputs? The Tape Out, ST Unbalanced Mic Out, or LR XLR (if I went out of the XLRs, is there a slim, dual XLR cable or minimal snake you might recommend?) Thanks again! Chris.
  4. I'm an independent doc shooter, and will be shooting in a remote area for 3 months, on trails. I'll have to move fast with my subjects, so I'm looking to minimize the weight. I currently own a c100, two Lectro LMa TXs, with one 401 and one UCR100 RXs. Usually I use the Rycote plate and strap my 401 to the hotshoe of the C100 handle (pictured). But I'm looking for advise on 1. How to run two wireless units on this setup (mounting options?), while 2. keeping small weight. I love the 401 quality, so am considering purchasing a second, but wonder how I would deal with mounting or tethering to a waste belt that stashes two 401's next to my lenses. I then wonder if upgrading to Lectro SRb would let me capture two wireless channels from my LMa's, mount to the hotshoe, and feed to either one or both C100 input channels, would be an option? Thoughts or advise? Chris.
