  1. Thanks for your input, I hoped it was maybe just my AES card, because when I connect Maxx to my RME ufx soundcard wich is supposed to be an industry standard, the AES light on the ufx is continuously blinking, and not steady. Best Ton
  2. Hi, I just want to check if I am the only one, or that the two are just not compatible. I can t find any topic about this. Get always the message: not pro use audio on the F5 as soon as I connect with AES. Found a workaround to press the power switch shortly on Maxx then it locks and works, but it is quite annoying to do that every time when one of the two is switched off or reconnected. On other camera s it just works. And yes the latest firmware is loaded. Any idear? Best Ton
  3. Thanks a lot for your input. Gonna try to make more distance between maxx and the receivers, altough i already have them in the outside pockets of petrol 607. Maybe better shielded cables. best Ton
  4. ok, thanks thats clear not enough for me, but for sure an indication what to expect.
  5. Thanks Zack, but what is good range for you? Can you give me an distance where you are mostly confident about?
  6. I am realy struggling with my sennheiser 2000 wireless sets and maxx rf, spray I suppose. My third wireless lectro 110 is completly useless now. With my sd 302, or cooper 104 the range was about 100 meters or 300 feet for you, what is fine for me to feel confident, its now 20 or 30 meters with the senn s and 10 with the lectro. Senny s are in the b range us version {100} Mw tx, lectro block 30. Was at the IBC last week and looked at the wisycom mcr 42 wich should be compatible with the senny s tx, so set me back at around 3000 euro for 2 channel good receiver, [ hopefully ] in combination with the senn tx. I am sold on Maxx so there s no way back, but looking for the right route to go for new wireless. lectro srb or wisycom? Anyone can tell me the expected range with lectro srb and nomad or maxx? Don t tell me 411, i want to go the light route, thats why i bought maxx. best Ton
  7. I ll do suposse its per track selectable. Have tomorrow to finnish an job wich I prefer to do without possible troubles, so I ll switch on saterday. More important question to me is, will the AES outs 1234 be also postfader? Have not yet made the cable. Ton
  8. Thats good news Glenn. Thanks a lot. Best Ton
  9. Jack, Its just meant as open suggesetion to find out if that could be working for more users. I do know Zaxcom take all suggestions serious. Really happy with that. Maxx is just an creation from there, what it does now and what it can do in the near future. An better example did nt exist. Short cuts are an option, but for the ones who have to rent maybe a bit unclear. I am fine when its not implemented, I am already happy with where it is, just an thought. Best,
  10. Fine tuning Maxx. Is it an idea to change the menu structure so that its possible to scroll back and forward in the menu s so its endless? Then you are with one click in the eng menu, whats now on the end. I ll think its faster to come where you want to be, especillay in the eng when its possible on this way. I see myself quite often like to change the lcd brightness, when coming from in to outside in the sun, that one maybe can move to the first place in the main or eng menu. Are there votes for this? Forgive me with my english. best, Ton
  11. Maxx is getting better and better, very fast. I am very glad with pre/postfader iso s. Why? I can deliver an complete mix wich sound nice on separate tracks, less work for post, I am doing a lot for small production houses where the pic editor do s also the audio. I know what to do with audio they often not. Also the change of the fixed HPS in the mic pre s to 28 Hz makes me happy. I ll let it change to the new specs. Do suppose Max will sound then on the mic pre s the same as it sounds now only on the line in. Then there s still an slight hpf but now in an usefull way, not in an to much audible way. Most important off all? Its just working when switched on. Not bad,, Ton
  12. Just want to make an rectification about Maxx pre s. I'm a little shocked by the uproar my message give. It was not my intention to hold off anyone to buy an Maxx. Its an great [sounding] tool, and there s no reason not to buy it. But I did interpret the specs as it has straight output and schwitchable hpf s. Maybe my wishfull thinking. It seems that most off us even didn t hear the difference and thats fine, as I stated, most of the time with dialog recording its only in the way all the lowend. I am sure Glenn designed the pre s this way, to give us an machine thats easy in handling noise. Thats an choice and not a flaw. But a lot off mic manufacturers do the same and then its doubled. Listen to any large diagram mic put it on your boom and enyoy the disaster. No shotgun have that response, all cutoff already. But you should be able to hear the difference even with voice. Just want to say that I prefer to start from scratch and have the ability to create the sound I am after. Best, Ton
  13. Hi Glenn, Thanks for fast reply. I realy like your company and its attitude to be open for suggestions. I did before buying the thing research and never did find an post off this. Strange, it was the first what i was hearing when put it on. Given is, I never worked with the Nomad to judge it. But was soundwise very happy with my zfr 100. So bought Maxx blind. Do you think its possible to tweak it afterwards? That should be great. Best Ton
  14. Question about preamps Maxx. First off all design wise its for me an deammachine. But from the beginning I had the feeling that I missed low end soundwise. First I thought that that was only the headphone amp, but its in the pre s. I set up an synth as ocsilator and notice there is quite a lot cutoff starting as high at 140 Hz 1 or 2 db but from 80 Hz it goes quite fast down to about -10db at 40 Hz and more at 20 Hz all without hpf. Thats all in the audible range even for normal voice recording. I realy miss the warm character of my carefully selected mics even with shwitched off hpf s. Fore shure in run and gun situations I always have engaged hpf, but I also do classical and jazz music programs and sfx gathering, where I like the full spectrum. Is there any way to get rid off the fixed cutoff in the pre s despite to give up some headroom, but get the character back off my mics, where I am now not able to? All my mics have an cuttoff flter by it self when i need to get rid off more low end. The one s who don t have cutoff schwitches, do have also not that much bottom end, that the filters in Maxx can t handle. Best, Ton
  15. By the way just an idea, when not possible to make the tape/mono outputs post fader, make an option to set autotrim at same steps gain boost/cut as the faders so it can be used as fader. Pushed menu knob in bigger steps as autotrim, normal same as fader. Best,
