  1. Anyone familiar with Oade Brothers Audio? I have an Edirol R4Pro and am interested in potientally upgrading the mic pres in the unit for the specific purpose of ambisonics recording. Has anyone done an upgrade? https://www.oade.com/index.html
  2. Lol I know what your saying but Comteks sound terriable. And aren’t as useful as ERX.
  3. I don’t plan on using the Amp unless it’s needed. Zaxnet features are amazing but the range leaves something to be desired.
  4. I recently got a 2.4 GHz amp for Zaxnet. But when powering my amp. My QRX200 (connected to my Micplexer 2 with whips) scans show up as very crowded when I pull power to the amp the scans clear up. Anyone else use a 2.4Ghz amp and have any advise/recommendations?
  5. I’ve been looking at the Mix Pre 6 as an option. Also been contemplating a 744.
  6. I’m interested in finding a professional small footprint 4 Channel Recorder with 4 nice pres and timecode. Specifically for use with a SPS200. I would like something with nice quiet preamps. Any recommendations?
  7. I was recently injured earlier this year in a car accident (broke both legs, right wrist, sternum and ribs) and am trying to take it easy. I’m trying to build a relatively small foot print colapseable bag cart to not have to have my bag strapped to me all day. Yeaterday I was on a job (not using my gear) in a statium and the client had me carry around a fully loaded bag with a crappy Pertol Harness (664/CL-6 in an orca) with 4 411s and 2 Hops just to boom (unusable audio due to music from the statium.) I asked nicely why I can’t just go hardlined to camera (we had a wireless Hop and I gaurentee thatd be what they’d use). But he wanted the wav files???? Ok.... If if I was using my kit I could have easy accomplished this with a Boom, TRX743 RX200 on Camera and ERX for me to monitor. Or this could of been accomplished with a Boom and an H4N on my belt. For complete simplicity... I really like the simplicity and stability of this cart. But would love it if it would collapse. Lol Just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas.
  8. Is the 175mm windjammer. Work for a WS4?
  9. I have an all Zaxcom rig (both Nomad 12 and Maxx, IFB200 and CL900) and do agree that the Zaxnet range is less than desirable without an 2.4ghz amp.
  10. How do you keep your coiled cable headphones from becoming a tangled mess?
  11. Anyone do any Mods or have any info of the long rumored Zaxnet slate? I have a TS3 and would love to put a ERX inside so it has Zaxnet jam ability. Thanks
  12. I’m currently on a reality show for 5 weeks. Which decided they didn’t want to rent my gear and wouldn’t provide any information before Day 1. Turns out they have provided a 664, with 6 Lectro Wireless (in different blocks) and a CMIT5U in a Satchler bag that doesn’t have a strap, harness or handles. The bag is set up as heavily and bulky as possible.... We have 8-12 cast everyday and somehow they expect me to Boom the un miced talent... They ask for us to be a fly on the wall. I explained to them that their equipment is inadediquete to do the job properly and when asked for them to rent my gear or at the very least more Wireless and a CL-6 they declined... So All I can do is do my best and play musical mics all day. I agree “It is what it is...”
  13. Hey, I’m in need of an accountant in Texas specifically Austin. Wanted to see if anyone had any referrals. Thank You
  14. I have checked my Orca Cart before. I love the OrCart for support just not as an actual cart. But has some great features. Like a place to put your boom down and a table top workspace...
  15. I just got off a job with 2 F5s. I had 2 QRX100IFBs as Hops. I had to have the Hops powered up before camera for the cams to accept AES. Otherwise it says "AES not available in pro mode" or something. Powering down the the camera and back up allowed it to work with no issues.
  16. I am a production sound mixer. I live in Austin and work all around Texas. I am a member of the Local 484. I primarily do a lot of commerical/doc/reality work. But also do a fair amount of narrative work. I own a couple of all Zaxcom Rigs. I am looking to start making connections in LA, I'm interested in entertaining the possibility of moving to a busier market to work on larger projects. I'm willing to utility, boom or mix. I will be in LA September 7th-12th. If anyone would like to meet, I would love to meet some fellow mixers and grab a drink! If anyone is interested please email me! Thanks! 17. I found a thread on this but wanted to see if there are any new ways. I'm looking for a quick and light weight way to externally power a Zaxcom QRX. Thanks!
  18. I agree, It makes no sense to have a built in Transmitter and a IFB100/200. The option that made the most sence to me was a max with a CL900. So I could have both the UHF Stereo Transmitter and a Zaxnet Transmitter in 1 unit... It would make more sence to have the on board transmitter be a 2 channel reciever. But with all that said the Maxx and the Camera Link are a great combo.
  19. Awesome! Glad to hear it turned out somewhat OK!
  20. Yup, I had an TRX3.5LT and it was funky and wouldn't transmit... I sent it in three time under warranty and was told the TRXLT3.5 were having issues and were to be discontinued.
  21. Zaxcom Maxx with a built in 2 channel receiver instead of transmitter. And 8 AES in
