  1. I order my lithium AA, energizer L91, from battery junction. Best prices I have found and often have discount offers.
  2. Anyone have any tips for concealing the wire down the back of the neck? Other than using a skin colored lav.
  3. I think some sort of list export option is a great idea!
  4. The custom function isn't perfect but I've dialed in canatrans with it and just maxed out the rf power and bandwidth and hoped for the best. Couldn't say how useful it was but I ended up coordinating everything and had few issues. I agree, even the max bandwidth setting available with the custom funtion is a far cry from the swath of airspace that a video transmission takes up.
  5. I use the android version but this is already possible. Create a new transmitter and choose the custom option instead of Lectrosonics etc. it gives you several parameters to adjust including frequency.
  6. Reserving features like the cl-9 for the 788T makes sense to me ... Except that the 664 has a higher potential track count.
  7. Wow! Thank you Dave! Nice T-shirt! That makes things much clearer. I may be the one who would rather not tie the cable off at the end, would it work if you just snugged the 'spud' part against the cable coming out of that bottom slot? Sort of biting the cable at that point? Or would that lead to a chewed up cable eventually? The way I have my poles now each shockmount I use has a dedicated thin/cloth shorty and I just patch the shorty to the boom cable at the tip of the pole... if that makes sense. I use the little Rycote XLR holder part to grab the XLRs so they don't clang around. Thanks again for the video demo.
  8. It was set to output, good call though Marc!
  9. I saw on here a while back that someone had a complaint about ambient poles and the gloss finish throwing little light pings around the room and into the frame of the shot. Can you comment on this? Also, a question for K-Tek Stagepole users, can anyone comment on the removable mic spud? K-Tek's website does not show it in action very well. Does it work in a similar fashion to VDB and PSC's design allowing you to have a mike spud on each shockmount and use it as a quick release? It's one of my favorite features of my VDB poles (one of which is right now, 12ft vdb, good condition... shameless plug!). Also, are the Stagepoles thicker than the Klassic series? Thanks!
  10. I had the same problem with the C300 and the QRXQIFB. Wouldn't take a jam and I (even with Howy's help) was never able to figure it out. At that time it was not yet possible to send TC from the TRX to the QRX. I use BEC boxes and parts in conjunction with the DP's shoulder rig to mount the receiver. I've found that if the operator wants to use the camera with no shoulder rig then they are also likely to ask for a fanny pack to keep the weight out of their hands. They have the same issues as us trying to mount video transmitters to these things so their solution for that can also help find a spot for the audio.
  11. Useable range with just the whip antennas and QRX in dual mode? What transmitter power are you guys using?
  12. Fairview can also sell you a cable that just has a right angle ssma on one end and an sma on the other, that way you don't need an adapter. Perfect jumper to the fdp antenna. I also bought a small ssma male to SMA female barrel adapter from them so that I can use a regular whip if all else fails. PS.. Zaxcom please stop using the ssma!
  13. So I already have an iMac with an ssd and a mechanical 1TB drive. Can I turn it into a "fusion drive" or is this only for new Macs?
  14. Certainly not required. At least for must of my work. At least it's not often requested.
  15. I can second jack's recommendation of fairview microwave. All the RF cable I've bought from them is still going strong. Just get ready for the rage that will ensue when you see what they charge for these kinds of cables. Regarding the 742 not having any RF spray... Well I would not put money on that assumption.
  16. Sounds like you've had an unfortunate run in with an individual suffering from an acute case of "Millennial-itis". I guess I'm of the "millennial" generation also.. but I did take cable wrapping seriously.
  17. I'm with ya Glen. That other method looks painful!
  18. On Android there's an app called electrodroid that has pin outs with diagrams but is mostly for things like USB connectors and other computer and phone centric stuff. They do have xlr and 1/4" but if you can't remember those you're in trouble!
  19. Paul Isaacs works for SD. If he says SDXC is compatible then it should be so.
  20. Matt, are you sure you didn't mean SDHC and not SDXC? I thought sdxc used a different FAT version.
  21. Will the nomad USB port charge a cell phone?
  22. While I'm harping on the Zaxcom user manuals, another pet peeve occurred to me.. I really, really, wish Zaxcom would author an individual user manual for each product. As it is now they lump ALL their wireless products into one behemoth user guide that is hard to navigate and easy to forget if the info you're reading at any given point applies to your unit or some other product or both... Even if it means there is a lot of redundant info across the manuals I would much prefer to have a dedicated manual for each unit. Zaxnet should have it's own manual as well, at least an overview guide with a capabilities and product compatibilities chart. I love the Zaxcom products I own but the documentation has always left me disappointed.
