  1. Agreed, hoping the Android update doesn't take too long!
  2. Single system works but they need to have the XLR input/ LCD viewer attachment installed.
  3. Sounds like Powerex is the preferred brand here for NiMH AAs. Any reasoning? Quality control? Consistent run times?
  4. I agree that it would be nice to have a more streamlined unit. Not sure my wallet would stomach the change out but I would consider it. My top requests would be the following: - Top mounted display with good backlight. - Top mounted buttons - Dedicated REC/STOP button/s - Single LED to indicate IFB reception status - All connectors on bottom of unit. - IFB reception ability as good or better than the ERX - Analog or AES stereo input. - Variable output power from 10mW-150mW - Built in FDP part - All RF and DC power issues resolved. - SMA antenna (death to the SSMA) - Locking input/output timecode connectors (BNC or TA maybe) - Ability to output timecode and IFB audio simultaneously - Excellent Timecode generator/reader with option to always display code on homescreen - Smaller than QRX / fits in Petrol side pouch Maybe a tall order... I also agree that the black Stereoline can still hold it's own. Are you guys using it with the RON page trick to disable the limiter?
  5. Learn to use this valuable and free tool provided by Sennheiser: http://www.sennheiserusa.com/findfrequency/default.asp
  6. I've been asking them for this for awhile now. I think it's pretty low on their to-do list. A shame though since it's such a valuable and basic feature (compared to some of their other features). On many reality shows Lectro's 'group tuning' mode is indispensable.
  7. And yes, there are many good alternatives to rolling on the zoom including recording on the camera, though I'm assuming you did this and the h4n was some sort of back up.
  8. The 9000 series all digital systems look very nice. Not sure how appropriate they would be for location sound. The RF power spec seems a little low. I know they're designed for studio use where more elaborate antenna systems will be used. Also I did not see any eng sized receiver for the product line.
  9. Thanks for the info david. ... I love that Sennheiser puts out another cardioid capsule but no figure eight yet!
  10. I truly don't understand all the Sven hate. I think it's a very creative solutionfor setting configurations on a digital/analog hybrid machine with no screen to look at. It sure beats looking at the cheat sheet every time! It's a huge time saver if you ask me. Anyway, back to the 664 talk!
  11. I doubt they'll see it here, you should email them or call with your request.
  12. Yes, the 552 has a feature to record mp3s with timecode recorded on one of the audio tracks using the timecode input.
  13. I also called SD: - 48k max sample rate. - No CL-9 compatibility (though they admitted they've been asked that more than once already). - No idea if Petrol will make a bag. - Will indeed record MP3s, not sure if it can "replace track" with LTC like the 552 does. Looks great, just wish they would have crammed it all in the same foot print of the current 552.
  14. Can you guys wire up lavs for the 3-pin lemos (Zaxcom/Sennheiser) that are giving everyone a hard time?
  15. Hey Jeff, sorry to hear about the troubles with Tapatalk, what a load of crap! I have no problem discontinuing it on my end. The mobile version of the site works just as well.
  16. Of course I don't know this for sure but I would guess that the Nomad has a regulator installed for the AA sled that steps the voltage to whatever it needs to be. The 8V minimum spec is for the EXT DC connector I'm guessing.
  17. Hey Rado, I asked this in Facebook but maybe it's better to ask here... With your micro SD/Lectro setup do you hear the digital "zippering" sound when using the headphone encoder to mix channels 3 & 4? Thanks
  18. Good job Zaxcom for responding to the many user complaints regarding the volume knob being vulnerable. I'm wondering if the new composite material will also be adopted in all the LT series transmitters. I was under the impression it was all the same stuff. As far as I know, the case could not be entirely aluminum due to the internal antenna array. Same reason your cellphone can't have an all metal case.
  19. REAN makes TA5 compatible connectors too now. Took them awhile but they have them now. There is another long discussion on the REAN connectors somewhere on JW Sound, worth a read if you can find it.
  20. http://www.cablesond...-174RASMAX2.htm This is what I found on Amazon. Any good? Who knows, but worth a look I think. $11 for a 2.5 foot SMA-SMA right angle.
