  1. I used to have a lot of issues with noise/hum powering my Røde links externally, until I (with help from Røde's excellent support) realized that I couldn't power my SQN 4s mixer via barrel DC->Hirose and use the same powerbank's USB output as that resulted in some kind of ground loop. Now I power my Røde links from small USB emergency chargers, which works very nicely.
  2. Should anyone still be interested, I have actually come across the technical bulletins from Fostex with detailed information on how this retrofitting is done (and yes it does include a modification to the PSU). Seems a little complicated with cuts in the circuitry board and soldering of resistors.
  3. Thanks for the info, strange thing about the PSU. Are you happy with the function of the tc card otherwise? I mean, is it worth the cost and time or is it better so save up for a 744T?
  4. Years later, I know. But as I am thinking of maybe fitting my FR2 with timecode (and as I realize my serial number that there is some kind of modification required for this) I am very interested to hear more on this - anyone done this successfully? I have a tech guy that I trust with doing these things if they should include soldering, but I would like to learn more about how it's done, is there some kind of tutorial/instruction out there? All the best /joonP
