  1. FYI on the subject of file naming - the PIX260i (and 240/220 for that matter) offer about half a dozen different options for file naming scheme .... something to satisfy everyone's preference.
  2. FYI, the 788T has selectable output delay.
  3. A brief overview of the PIX260i features... http://www.sounddevices.com/products/pix260i/videos/
  4. It will be unity gain if your ISO channel is set pre-fader. So a -20dBFS signal on your DAT will read 0dB on the 664 meter (-20 from max). If you are set post-fader for that channel and your fader is turned up slightly from 12 o'clock, you will get a hotter signal.
  5. As pointed out, yes it will display incoming video at the same time as recording Broadcast WAV files, so an ideal one box solution to recording audio and video monitoring. You can also route the SDI or HDMI audio embedded in the incoming video stream into the BWAV recording. Not only that you can use the box as a 32ch interface to Protools, Logic etc all whilst recording to 4 drives simultaneously and controlled remotely via a browser over Ethernet or WiFi (just connect ethernet port to wifi access point). There are a lot possibilities. Paul
  6. Hi Fauzan - the 260i and 240i both have the ability to delete individual clips. You do this from the Files menu. You also have a false take function using the stop +rew shortcut like on all our recorders. Paul
  7. Folks Please see here for the official iOS/CL-WiFI/788T troubleshooting guide: http://www.sounddevices.com/notes/recorders/cl-wifi-connectivity/ Paul
  8. FYI: The 664 can simultaneously record wav files to one media and mp3 to the other. Paul
  9. For music recording, you might just do better to turn off your HPF altogether. Paul
  10. Hi Zack Mix tracks L and R are tracks 1 and 2 in the wav file. Aux tracks are the last two. I'm curious how you determined that L/R are 13/14. Paul
  11. Hi Olphi - thanks for your feedback. Just in case you hadn't noticed yet, there is a second meter screen (accessed by pressing the METERS button) that does not show ISO metering - it only shows L,R X1 X2 and return meters. Yes - this is something that will be addressed. In the meantime, simply set up a custom user HP preset to monitor RTN, then the PFL will activate as you wish. Paul
  12. To all those concerned We are in the final throws of our investigation into these Ch38 RF issues and will update this forum as soon as we have our recommendations. Thanks for your patience Paul
  13. I think Vas's question is an important one - he is concerned that the internal timecode backup battery is not rechargeable and thus would need replacing regularly. As Nic pointed out, the 664's internal TC battery is rechargeable.
  14. Power consumption is approx 6-7W when recording 6 mics, 10 tracks simultaneously to both CF and SD. 9 hours or more is possible when using an NP1 Paul
  15. SDXC spec supports up to a maximum 2TB cards whereas SDHC only supports up to 32GB. The 664 supports both SDXC and SDHC. SDXC can be formatted as FAT32 or exFAT since both support volumes of 2TB. We have run many tests with 64GB SDXC cards formatted as FAT32 and they work fine. Paul
  16. Then of course you will only have to worry about the 'sound-thru-air' latency .... 1ft ~ 1ms. How do you deal with that? In everyday mixing in the field, its an issue that rarely 'phases' anyone!
  17. All Main and Aux outputs are phase aligned as you'd expect from any Sound Devices product. Sorry to shatter the rumor!
  18. Good suggestion! But just so you know, you dont have to dig into a menu....Just leave X1X2 highlighted in the main screen, then all you have to do is press and quick turn the encoder. Takes about 1/2 second! Paul
  19. Trims gains done simply by adjusting the select encoder while in an input screen ... so two touches required. Fader gains directly by fader.
  20. Yes. We're very pleased with the RF performance of the 664 and Lectro SR Receivers. There is very little wideband low level RF noise coming from the 664.
  21. The 664 chassis has more space for Ch1's trim and fader. Nice suggestion re swapping ch1 and ch6 in the bwf!
  22. L, R, X1 and X2 tracks can be played back to all balanced and unbalanced L, R, X1 X2 analog outputs, the AES outputs and the HP outputs. All tracks L, R, X1, X2 and ISOs 1-6 (or 1-12 with CL-6) can be routed in any combination to the 8 AES outputs and HP outputs via routing matrixes Paul
  23. ....You can route the returns to an output for IFB using the tape out...
