  1. Thanks DrPro - that Betso SBOX-1N looks compelling - reminds me of the simplicity of the SB-3, and at a much better price point than the Denecke & Ambient offerings.
  2. Hello esteemed sound people Am in the market for a lockit. Needs to be able to do WC & LTC. I've used the old Denecke SB-3, but I don't think they're making that model anymore. Since I have to buy new, ACL204 looks like it has a good feature set for me. SB-4 looks like it doesn't do WC, not sure about the SB-T. Any experience/opinions with these boxes? Is there something different/better? Thanks in advance for your time & input.
  3. as someone mentioned previously, it depends on the application. if we're talking music recording, that's another ballgame, but for something that will be useful for boom work and run-and-gun stuff, the 418s is hard to beat.
  4. Thanks guys - looks like I'll need to adjust (at least for video gigs)
  5. Just curious, because I am new to the video world, but I keep getting more and more calls, so it's worth asking. Is it common practice to deliver your files before you are paid? I come from a music background, and though it's been a long time since I worked in studio, it was generally understood that masters were not released until everything was paid in full. Though I ventured off into recording live music about a decade ago, I have often adhered to this policy, especially with a new client. I do make exceptions: for clients I know well and have a good working relationship with; when it's a small money gig; or if some agreement is made in advance. I've been burned a few times, so it's for a good reason, especially when there's more than a grand on the line. Recently had a film producer (new client) balk when I told him/her that I generally don't release masters until paid. Admittedly, I should have made this clear before the gig, so I relented in this case. But I am wondering if this is an unheard of policy in the video world, and if perhaps I need to modify my terms. Thanks.
