  1. Looking for local sound guy who can help me get ahold of some waterproof mics/xmitters for a shoot in Maui on Friday. You can email me at atxfilm@gmail.com. Thanks!! S
  2. Well to the guy who put the link to the video, thanks! To everybody else, get a good snarky answer ready when I come back to this forum in 6 months with another question you're tired of cyber chatting about.
  3. as the owner of a yamaha 01v, I don't want to buy a stinkin' cl-6 for my 664. Has anybody out there figured out how to unlock 7-12 without it? I've tried shorting various pins on the ribbon cable port to no avail. Sorry if this topic has already been covered a bunch of times, and thanks for the help! -S
  4. Yeah, the idea is definitely to avoid spending $1500 on a cl-6, carrying around 6 extra pots, and then only using two of them. That little box looks nifty, and I'd scoop one up if I didn't already have beachteks lying around. Thanks for the input fellas!
  5. would that be to run a beachtek? Trying to keep a small bag and a happy back, and I don't need 12 tracks.
  6. Any of you live studio audience specialists have some good advice for minimizing feedback off cos-11s when fed into house PA system? Would a program like the Daily Show be running feedback eliminators and other special gear to allow more amplification? Sorry if this has been discussed ad naseum on this forum - I couldn't find any record... Thanks! S
  7. I've tried hitting the red at +12, +6, and 0. The slate jams the red fairly consistently via lemo, but nothing from the sennheisers...
  8. So I have these sennheiser g2 packs lying around and decided to attempt a wireless timecode system with them. I built a lemo-1/8th cable to output from my fusion, and took the sensitivity down to -30 on the transmitter. Meters read a solid -10 or so when plugged in. The receiver is getting the signal cleanly with no hits, and when outputted to a ts-c in read mode, it will scroll if you touch the chassis of the lemo connector. If you do not touch the chassis, it will lock a static number once and not scroll. In gen mode it does nothing. The ultimate goal is to wirelessly jam a red camera, but the red won't flash its little chain symbol and it shows no indication of communicating. The welds are all perfect and denecke thinks it might be a problem with sennheiser's audio fidelity. Red's tech support was about as helpful as banging my head against a wall, and sennheiser had no idea what I was even talking about. Location and pro sound couldn't think of anything. So here's my guess: what about a 10k resistor on the hot and 1.3k on ground of tc going into xmitter. Cut 20 db out before messing with xmitter sensitivity. Maybe resulting in cleaner signal. Any other ideas?
