  1. Also use Personal Hotspot, had issues thinking it got sent but didn't so I started including myself in the email list to double check that the email actually got sent..
  2. Every day I delete the previous days scenes and start fresh every day. If I need to reference something in the past it's in Movieslate app or still on the main drive. keeps my main scene list nice and quick.
  3. And as in most cases a fairly pointless response
  4. IBC come and gone... Any news if Meters will be be included? Currently have my CL-WiFi mounted 6 inches from my Ipad and have dropouts every few minutes.. Very frustrating.. Have tried every channel with no luck.
  5. Bought the 8060 and hit the fault issue. Senn was great and replaced. Ended up back with the 416 for a few reasons. 1. In the high humidity in the swamps, it's the 1 mic I have no worries about 2. The high freq bump that's present on the 8060 is more pronounced than the 416. Exteriors with Crickets, bugs etc the 8060 really pulled the noise of those creatures way up. Interior, it just didn't fit with any existing mic in my kit. The mic Senn sent me as a replacement was rock solid and had no issues so whatever the issue was has been fixed..
  6. Yes there is a difference. I still have the original pods and one night wind kicked up just enough to start moving the limbs and caught some wind blasts on the 416. Swapped the original pods back in and that dealt with the wind issue.. It feels like I know have a low / medium and high wind solution...
  7. I've used them on 2 shows now.. Bought 1 new and bought 2 new pods for my original S Series model.. They work very well. Have used them in light wind without the full fur on and had no issues. Not sure what Rycote has coming out but happy with my purchase...
  8. I use a 700 system with a SD Mm1 and have no issues with noise floor. it's a very quiet setup. great range too
  9. New Picture of the X3 just popped up on Twitter. Its the unit that will be at IBC next week..
  10. Interesting new product from PreSonus.. Basically a Rack Mount Mixer with the Preamps and CPU/DSP functions, completely controlled by your Windows, Mac or iOS device.. If the software gained some of the functions we need, this might be an option for those high track count type shows. Sadly, AC power needed.. http://www.presonus.com/products/StudioLive-RM-Series
  11. Been using the Powerx AAA in my TIG and Q28 with great success.
  12. Here's a Pic of the Q28 mounted to Red Epic Steadycam.. For reference of size, that's a RedByte Decimator.. DIT is reporting Zero Sync issues.. SteadyCam op loves it.. A blip on the radar in size and weight!
  13. Here are a few pics to show the size of the new Q28. It's very very thin and lightweight. Timecode has been rock solid and a SteadyCam op I worked with last week is thinking of getting one for himself because of how small the unit is. Doesn't upset the balance that much...Please note the unit in the picture is a pre-release version with final graphics etc to come. ML
  14. Have been using the Elite X-Large for 5 years now.. My boom op really likes it.. A good balance between Lightness and Stiffness. He's tried the Ambient Poles when working with other mixers and isn't a fan.. I use a Silicone Gun Cleaning Cloth to clean the joints and have had trouble free use so far..
  15. Of the setup you described, let go of the Metacorder setup and keep the Cooper as your main Mixer. The sound will not go out of style. and minus the Computer/ Inverter / Battery, that should lighten up your cart greatly..
  16. Whitney, Sorry to hear that.. I'm grateful that the new editor called as it sounds like the first editor was backing up the blame bus towards me!! I was officially "Invited" to the camera test but told not to go as they didn't want to pay me! Also asked who/how/when they were going to sync to my production audio and was told not to worry about it, that not my job! It just reinforces my Absolute, unadulterated hatred of the Red companies cameras!
  17. I just got off a call from the "New" editor as she replaced the original editor 2 days ago. Yes, the competence level is now in question as the "Scratch" track was not replaced with my production tracks which explains where there were no ISO tracks and why the audio was sometimes distorted. The assistant editor completely dropped the ball in not merging my production tracks....
  18. Got it... Command / Option / K Click in the waveform area of the track and press those key command.. It reduces the height of the track display thus showing my panic'd post friends a nice clean, no distorted waveform..
  19. HELP!! Got a call from the Post house handling editorial from a movie I just wrapped. The called to say my audio was useless and that all the waveforms are clipped or squared off in Media Composer. I brought them in to Protools and saw no issues. In this scene, my normal dialog sits between -20 and -10 with a character smacking a table peaking at -4 In protools I know how to change the height of the waveform inside the track. I don't need to change the height of the track, just the vertical display of the waveform inside the track. When you scale it down in protools you can see my levels are good with no clipping.. Need to nip this in the bud...
  20. Just wrapped first day with the new Rycote Super-Sheild zepplin. I've used the original Rycote "S" zep since it's release and can confirm the Pods from the two systems are cross comparable. Night went well. Boom op liked it. Construction of the pods feel sturdier than the full zep kit. We used it without the fur and held up well in a light breeze. Get to try it in an open feild tonight and winds are expected to be brisk. So, day one eval is very positive. Well built, balance point changed a bit which boomy liked. I purchased the medium kit for 416 and was pleased on a few scenes that he had to swing it, no noticeable noise transferred to the mic so suspension worked on par with the S series. Hoping the new pods are available separately soon to upgrade my original... Solid so far!
  21. Yes on both!. Camera guys on this show love how small it is. I'm getting 14 plus hours of use on PowerX AAA rechargeables..
  22. Derek, I'm on a Red show now and haven't heard of issues. I think there was a run of firmware Red had that was not conducive to good sync! That started April of last year. They are using the latest firmware in the Epics and seem to be ok now!
