  1. Does any one know what microphones they use on Squawk Alley? Does anyone know of a board that deals with television in studio audio? Looking for some Cardioid lavs to compair with the the DPA 4080's (have akg ec82 on list) also earhook mics that may compare to the DPA define 88. Thanks for the help.
  2. If I have a Sanken wired for Lectro with the 1k resister and then use it in a hardwired system with a Ta5f to XLR adapter would I hace to apply more gain than if it were wired for XLR? Thanks
  3. Hi Chris it's not that I want to switch its that I am trying to put together a bag so two ENG/News photogs can go out and do a shoot with up to four people like a remote news cast or something like that. I would get a sound devices mixer but I need at least 4 channels and and I really don't need a recorder. The folks at the station would prefer I buy new. I am familiar with Lectro gear as we have several Venue systems thats why I was wondering about using the slot receivers with a Quad Pack to keep everything neat. Trying to keep things rather simple and not to expensive. Would like to power everything with an external battery but there are many choices and was just looking for any advice. I know I can search and search but was just looking for a few suggestions to research. This is not my gear and I really don't have hours in my work day to devote solely to research. I have used Sound Devices 422 which is really nice but not made anymore. Sorry to all if I got a bit testy I'ts been an unbelievably long day 20 hours in so far. Thanks to all who have chimed in.
  4. Yeah we have a 442 already its used by the production guys. It does not get a lot of use so I will try and trade with them. Always wonder why its so hard for some to just jive a simple answer. Thanks for your input Glenn.
  5. Thanks but I was actually looking for an opinion along the lines of if it would work as well as any insight on a way to power everything. This is for a television station and there will be several people who will be using it. Will it work? Are the SR series a good choice ie will they work? How does the Fostex mixer rate as opposed to another option. Would go Sound Devices but don't need recorder and need 4 channels at least. Etc. Thanks again
  6. Hi, I am putting together a bag for larger ENG/small production shoots and would like some opinion. Here is what I have so far: 2 SR receivers with the Quad pack, 4 SMQV transmitters, Fostex FM-4, Porta Brace 1.5 bag, and an umbilical to connect to camera. What would you recommend to power everything? I may go with LMa's but sometimes people complain about the weight. This is the first time I have put together something like this so please be kind. Thanks
  7. We have been using the DPA 4063 on lectrosonics wireless units but they just don't seem to be able to handle the abuse that the talent dishes out. Seeing how it is impossible to get the tallent to change it seems we need to try something else. Was thinking of going Sennheiser MKE2 does anyone have any other suggestions. see attachment of the kind of abuse I am talking about. Thanks
