  1. IFB100 v7.30P all trx900 on same group Id but seperate unit id allow ifb control set to on all other functions via IFB100 work as does sleep except they all sleep even when I select an individual unit #
  2. Same here Jan, my units used to sleep individually but not now. I will check what version they are on but i am sure its the latest, maybe it happened when i went through the v7.30 upgrade. Anyway it would be good to have it back. Tony
  3. Hi, I have a shoot in Hong Kong coming up and would like to know if Block 20 and 26 will work there? Regards Tony
  4. Yep mine have silver pins. So can they be sent back and upgraded? Has anyone done this? Cost etc. tony
  5. Does anyone know if you can get your existing sennheisers modified with better RF rejection as opposed to buying new ones, or if in fact the new ones still have this problem with the zax gear. Or does Zaxcom have a fix for this? its at the stage for me of either selling my sennheisers or not using them. Tony
  6. Hi James I just listened to the file and its exactly what I get on both my 742 and 942 with a MKH 60, 50 or 40. My schoeps are all good so i have resorted to using these which i prefer anyway but it is a concern. I sent my 942 back to zaxcom last year to fix this and it was better for a while but now does it. Is it because my sennheisers are about 15 years old and don't have the same RF rejection that more modern mics have? or is it a zaxcom thing? I also have an Areitec pico48 which i run with a TRX900 as a third wireless boom so maybe i will test that with the sennheisers and then we can eliminate either the transmitter or 48v power supply. Regards Tony
  7. I hear you Jeff but it seems a common problem when a discussion wanders off topic as people come up with new ideas. I love that mixer though never mind the cost. Tony
  8. Yes thanks Jeff for clarifying. I think too the 12 ch Sonosax is AC powered only. At least it was back in 2003. Tony
  9. More channels. Where Sonosax do 12 i need 16. Four of those could be tied up with private lines and VOG. But I do love the functionality and versatility of the Sax. To me the mixer and faders plus the wireless system is the essence not the recorder which to me can be a faceless box as long as it records. Crew sums it up nicely where we would all have a different combination if we all had a choice. One change i have made recently is to have two systems on the go all the time with my Nomad bag cart at the ready where i can jump from one to the other. I totally don't get the want to break out the main recorder and go over shoulder that seems so time consuming and disruptive. The Zax system allows you to operate like this easily as you can share wireless and zaxnet. Bring on the dedicated Cart based system. Tony
  10. I get that but what i was referring to is that i like a mixer with mic pre in the mixer and OP on xlr where you can plug something in, at the last minute, and switch to any IP or OP that has the functionality of say my sonosax. That with an internal recorder appealed to me as opposed to a control surface, that sure has the same routing ability but usually through a menu system that on some machines is a bit clunky IMHO. The original Deva 32 was a point of difference but clearly not a popular one. Its hard to explain but is about the feel of the setup as opposed to everything is possible as long as you go three deep in the menu and click boxes. Tony
  11. I was looking forward to a standalone mixer with pre amps and Aux busses with an inbuilt recorder with no physical connectivity needed, and it looks like we are getting a recorder to replace the Deva and Fusion with an optional control surface. Personally I think Zaxcom already have that in the Oasis/nomad so I am a little disappointed at this stage. Hoping to be delighted when it's released. tony
  12. Hi Simon this is what i would love to have controllable on the mixer. The ability to patch an extra IFB into an Aux with a physical volume pot. I am sure they will not disappoint its just that what you describe here reminds me of an Oasis/Nomad 12 the only difference being the 16 ch mixer rather than the 8 ch on the Oasis but with 3 banks you have as many faders as you are likely to need, and with talk of the script pages being on the Oasis/nomad and i am intrigued as to where the difference will be. The original Deva 32 mixer had 8 aux busses all switchable and level controllable something that i voted for. Tony
  13. I hear you Jeff but I am intrigued whether this will be a control surface mixer/recorder or a stand alone mixer and recorder. I personally don't want to see another control surface/recorder set up. I like the stand alone mixer with mic pre's and physical control of routing for IFB VOG etc etc. My knowledge of the original Deva 32 is that was the case. Now if they make separate recorder/mixer does that mean we will have xlr mic inputs and outputs on the mixer and then on the recorder? mmm that to me seems like a double up and brings the weight and connectivity into question. I for one don't want to move away from a stand alone mixer, maybe i am too old school, but i love the flexibility it has and the ability to control sub mixers and routing without going into a menu system. My view as a Zaxcom Guy is that they already have a great standalone recorder that can be married to an Oasis or to Nomad touch which covers ENG to Feature Films so why another standalone recorder? I guess all will be revealed soon enough. Thanks for your input. Tony
  14. That's interesting as that's the thing I liked most. I thought Zaccom had it sorted with that concept as I think recording drama is a 2 machine process. You need a back up recorder that's a given so why not, in the case of Zaxcom who do the system approach so well, have a fully integrated, fully loaded mixing recording system for cart work and then your backup, in Zax case the Nomad, for bag or insert work. You can have both systems fired up all the time and go between one or the other as the shot requires. The Q Take video system is a well designed and presented system for Video capture and I thought the Deva 32 looked similar in its approach, an all in one system with a big bright and multi functioned touch screen with all you need in front of you. Maybe they will still have some of those features but I hope they don't make a box recorder to compete with all of the other box recorders. i saw the original Deva 32 as an original and something I would have traded my entire cart in for as a big step forward in production sound. just my 5 cents worth. tony
  15. Thanks Jose yes I see that now. They are also expensive and I would probably use a CMC641 instead. So i guess for me the 4098 provides a quick and reasonable solution at a reasonable cost. Thanks Tony
  16. Hi Jose have you used the 4018 into a TRX900? if so how did you find it? Tony
  17. This is my wish too. I run a zax cart rig and a separate nomad bag rig and would love to be able to have them set up autonomously without raiding one for the other. I think the RX12 is too big for a bag rig but i am a little frustrated that i need a plexer to run more than 1 QRX200 in the bag. I too agree with Rado that the QRX200 is best and a built in plexer would make a powerful piece of kit with many options for bag or small bag cart work. A slim version of the mix 8 is another wish of mine that would fit in the pocket of a bag. I have thought of cutting one down as I like the 8 faders but its too bulky. Tony
  18. Thanks Jose thats excellent. I can see too how the 30cm would be handy but will go with the 15cm to start. I see DPA have another option the 4018F with interchangeable goose neck but i am not sure if they are a good option instead, the capsules look a lot bigger. 19. What is the best length for the 4098 in the visors of a car? Is the 15cm ok? I won't have a chance to try before I buy and want the most useful arm length. Any thoughts? Tony
  20. Hi Rado do you have a "person on the inside" at DPA who can confirm when the low voltage version would be available? regards tony
  21. Thanks Jeff thats all very helpful. Tony
  22. Totally agree Jeff the Zax and DPA is a marriage made in heaven. How do you think this slight increase in noise would affect whispered dial? I am planning to get some of these soon for an upcoming movie and i doubt DPA will produce a low V version by then. Regards Tony
  23. I like File Maker Pro and have a custom made template which fits in with a script supervisor data base designed by the same person. The great thing about this is that a clever boffin at Park Road Post designed a program to run with Pro Tools so that a search on the FMP sound log would find the sound on the Pro Tools Project , of course thats a detailed and specific workflow that not everyone is going to need or want but is great for large projects with a marge amount of Data It can be saved as a PDF and that looks good too. On an iPad you can run File Maker Go App which costs a fraction of the price of FMP and is a smart looking sound report and infinitely customisable ., mm is that a word? TJ
