21 years old just getting started in Location Sound. I'm currently in my last semester studying Media Communications at Asbury University in Wilmore, KY USA. I got asked to work a film set to do "sound," not knowing what it was I jumped right in. I've failed a lot, learned a lot, but love every time I load up my bag and I'm faced with a new challenge of how to get the best sound possible. So far I've only been working on independent short films. I've done one independent feature length film, and two seasons of an internet webseries. I like location sound, I like re-recording/post mixing. I can't stand editing. It bores me to death. That's a little about me.

  1. Thanks Michael! Where did you find a dealer for Sound Guys Solutions, it seems everyone is only selling their lav adaptors.
  2. Hey all, I'm looking to upgrade the power system I use for my current bag setup but wanted to get some recommendations? I currently use an Anton Bauer system which is somewhat heavy and I've built it all myself with 4-pin xlr but it was free so its what I got. I'd like to update to an NP style system for weight but also I'd like to get some sort of distribution system. Does anyone on here use the Remote Audio BDS system or do you just make a DIY system yourself?
  3. Thanks fieldmixer and thanks everyone for your feedback! I just got asked to crew an 8-day tv show shoot. If it ends up getting funding I'll easily be able to purchase the MM-1 and probably even that Sound Devices 633 I've been wanting for the past few months. Fingers crossed!
  4. I appreciate the suggestions everyone and if you didn't infer from my question I am on a budget. Also if you don't have any constructive comments or suggestions please keep your mouth shut, for whatever that's worth on here. I signed up on here cause I'm starting out and thought that I could learn from the insight of seasoned sound people on here, I guess I was wrong. Thanks anyway.
  5. Hello all, I'm new to this site and forum and just today my pretty ancient Shure FP22 which I've been using in conjunction with my lectrosonics UH400 plug-on-transmitter as a headphone tap seems to be dying and giving a lot of noise out of the headphone output. Currently this isn't affecting the line output but I will be needing a new headphone tap for my boom op soon and I'd like to know what you'd suggest? Of course for power reasons it's important for the headphone tap to pass phantom. I'd love to get the Sound Devices MM-1 but it is a bit pricey, any other suggestions? Can you help me out? Thanks!
