  1. I have to pick up a used reciever for an sqmv. Two affordable options available at the moment, for the same price, are the ucr401 (fixed antenna) and an LR. On paper I see pros and cons to each. Has anyone used both that would like to speak up?
  2. I've read the entire manual for the UCR210D, but it doesn't seem to specify anywhere exactly what is the connector for using external power? As my intention is to build myself four cables (one for each Lectrosonics UCR210D) going from that connection at one end to D-tap male at the other end. So then I can use them together with this attached to my BP-U60 battery in my bag: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1171544-REG/indipro_tools_rk301_4_way_d_tap_splitter.html Should work well, yes?
  3. I'm not happy with how I store my 6 Lectro SMQV transmitters in my equipment case. Currently, I keep them side by side, three to each half in a Lectro zippered pouch. Once placed, they immediately start rattling around, not staying put. One plus for this pouch is the pocket in the upper flap that allows storage of antennas, etc. This retrieval/return is a repeat activity that needs to be bulletproof in all conditions and I'm curious how my colleagues deal with it. Thanks in advance.
  4. Just in time for the NAB show! http://www.lectrosonics.com/US/Wireless-IFB/category/218-iem-in-ear-monitor.html -Karl
  5. Hey everyone, A seller has a used Lectrosonics SRB receiver in block 21 - I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this block in Portland, OR? Is it clear? Thanks! jamie
  6. One of my 411s seems to beep when I press the select arrows. It's a pretty faint beep that you'd only notice when pressing the buttons in a quiet room. I did a forum search and didn't find anyone else talking about this, so I was wondering if this is something others have experienced? And if so, what causes it? thanks
  7. Here is a caddy for your Lectrosonics SR I built recently. I also made one for my D4. I have other projects like this on my instagram, if interested check it out! @100sideprojects Thanks!
  8. If anyone here is missing an HM-26 transmitter and may have left it at the Newseum in Washington, DC, please contact Anne-Marie Kaczorowski there, verify the serial number, and retrieve your transmitter. 202-292-6543
  9. Does anyone have experience with how long an LT will go for on a pair of AA Lithium at 100 mw?
  10. Zaxcom and Lectrosonics both get an Oscar, I call BS! Not to be rude to Zaxcom or Lectrosonics but when a company like Zaxcom and Lectrosonics both get Oscars for “Technical Achievement” you look at what they have achieved. Zaxcom created full digital wireless with on transmitter recording systems, Lectrosonics developed ½ of ½ of that and called it a hybrid digital wireless system. Please, Zaxcom has clearly advanced motion picture technology in a profound way and deserves a Scientific & Engineering Award from the Academy. This choice by the Academy cheapens the award because of the obvious inequity of the achievements. This is like giving an award to Ford for its parallel parking assist system when the Tesla is searching the next parking lot finding a space without a driver at all. The integrity of the Academy has taken a step down. David Thomas, Lawrence E. Fisher and David Bundy for the design, development and engineering of the Lectrosonics Digital Hybrid Wireless Microphone System. The Lectrosonics system has advanced the state of wireless microphone technology by developing a method to digitally transmit full-range audio over a conventional analog FM radio link, reducing transmitter size, and increasing power efficiency. Glenn Sanders and Howard Stark for the design and engineering of the Zaxcom Digital Wireless Microphone System. The Zaxcom system has advanced the state of wireless microphone technology by creating a fully digital modulation system with a rich feature set, which includes local recording capability within the belt pack and a wireless control scheme providing real-time transmitter control and time-code distribution.
  11. I case you haven't heard about this, Lectrosonics teamed up with DPA US to offer a $150 rebate for the purchase of an SSM transmitter and d:screet lav microphone. The offer is good through January 20 for customers purchasing these products from US Authorized Dealers. I've attached the form for anyone interested. DPA Lectro Offer Form_FINAL.pdf

  13. Hi, I am having problems with a SMQV M Block 26. I have own for 4 years this equipment and always have worked well. I use a DPA 4071 microphone. When I use this wireless kit there is a constant static I have changed microphones and its the same. I have never had any problem with mi Lectrosonics before. I own other kits but this is my only block 26 kit so I can't check if the problem is in the transmitter or the receiver. I think is the transmitter because I hear the static even when I don't plug the microphone in the SMQV, and when I plug it the static becomes louder. Have you had a problem like this?? Should I send my kit to service?? Thanks

  15. Has anyone else had the error message "DSP Failed" when turning on an LT transmitter? I am getting the error message fairly frequently when booting the transmitter up however it usually goes away when it gets power cycled again. Firmware is up to date.
  16. Hi guys, I'm on a feature and have run across a strange problem. I'm using lectro smqv tx and dual srb receivers into a 633. -All receivers are set to +5 -All 633 channels receiving lavs are set to line -All receivers are using ta3 to ta3 connectors -All receivers are using the same cos-11 lavs -All tx have audio levels set to 23 (for testing purposes) The problem is that 2 tx, set at audio levels of 23 with normal dialog sound normal, and show up on the 633 meters around 0. Fine. The other 2 tx, also set to audio levels of 23, with normal dialog are super hot. They're clipping. I had to turn them down to 8. I've tried the following troubleshooting: -ensuring all cables are wired for line level -switching mics (they are all the same) -rebooting 633 It seems like a tx issue. They are all the same smqv, same lav mics but 2 are fine at 23, and the other 2 are hot as hell. Can't figure out what I'm missing. Any help would be mucho appreciated.
  17. hey folks. just spent a couple hours making an ANDROID app to play the sleep and unsleep sounds for lectrosonics transmitters because i just needed that ability and didnt want to pay $20 for the LectroRM android app. my app isnt available on the google play store because i havent figured that out, and it doesnt have a nice icon because i havent figured that out either. anyone that wants it is welcome to download it (if it will link here) or hit me up for a signed APK. i just used the sounds freely available on lectrosonics site. keep up the good work out there. thanks. (newer one is next post)
  18. This is really strange. Several years ago I had bought some universally wired COS-11D's from a dealer and then noticed that they seem to be wired out of phase with some other universally wired COS-11D's that I have from a different dealer. I noticed the phase effects when holding them close to each other and listening to them mixed. (Could this happen when the white and black wires are reversed? I can not see how they are wired because of the heat shrink tubing.) Mostly I did not use the different phased mics together on jobs so the phase issue has not been a problem. And all the mics have worked fine on older UM200a transmitters and also some SMQV's that I have. But I have just this week purchased some new LT's and an SMV. The phase-reversed COS-11D's hardly work on them -- I have to turn the transmitter gain up all the way to hear a little audio, and of course, there's too much hiss and something is clearly wrong. But my older non-phased reversed COS-11D's sound fine on these new LT's and SMV. Has something changed about the wiring to the input connector on the newest Lectrosonics transmitters? Something that is different even from SMQV's that are about 3 years old?
  19. It is with great sadness that we tell of the passing yesterday of John Arasim, former President and Chairman of the Board for Lectrosonics. He was in the company of his family. His two passions were his family and his work. It was under John’s guidance that Lectrosonics became a standard of motion picture, television, news and reality programming. His impact on ENG, television and motion picture production encompassed 3 decades. During his tenure, the lexicon for production was expanded to include terms such as "camera mount receiver, "plug-on transmitter", "bag system", “camera hop” and "quad box". Always innovative, his first diversity receivers featured hand-made 6 pole helical resonators machined from pipe couplings. John’s previous work included many years at Sparton Industries where he ran the New Mexico operations. He kept a sample of his work, the mechanical UHF tuner for the F-105 Starfighter, in his desk and would happily show it off to those who inquired. Other accomplishments include developing the first directional sono-buoy and designing high reliability failsafes. His tireless efforts to build a company where everything that could possibly be made internally was a testament to his commitment to American jobs and the concept of "Made in the USA". His philosophy of manufacturing and engineering demanded the best and rewarded the result with good pay, good benefits and great place to work. He was always on the lookout for engineering talent, seeking the best available. “We are an engineering driven company” was his mantra. He had three rules of business. "We build the best product we know how to build. We don't do business with the government. We have fun." We will miss him and will continue to honor him through the continuation of his principles. God Speed, John. We do not yet have word of plans for his memorial but will post more information as it becomes available per the requests of the family. Gordon
  20. In case you didn't plow through all the previous posts in the HMa announcement thread that started in January, HMA is shipping now and due to popular demand, responds to the RM tone controls. No Sleep or Unsleep (the hardware is not on the board for that) but you can exert the other commands (freq, level, LF rolloff etc). Because the levels cover a wider range, New Endian has been notified of the change so they can add the additional level commands. Not sure when or if there is a new version available. But you can always use the incremental adjustment until then.
  21. 22. Hey all, I've had some strange behaviour lately with my Wideband Mid Venue. Yesterday I lost half the screen when powered up and lost audio at the same time. This has happened before. 6 months ago I lost the screen on both sides upon powering up. Simple reboot fixed the issue but makes me nervous. I have contacted Lectrosonics and I am sending in for service. Just seeing if anyone else has had the issue, and maybe how it was solved. The unit is just over a year old. It's powered by Meon Life. Thanks in advance. B
  23. DPA Microphones, K-Tek, Lectrosonics and Sound Devices are teaming up to host the next Sound Summit. The event will be located at Full Sail University on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 9. Registration is free! We hope to see you there. http://thesoundsummit.org/orlando/
  24. I started a new thread on this since the earlier one was straying off on tangents. We took a long look at the HMa and it looks like we can add dweedle tone controls for frequency, mic levels and maybe roll off. We cannot mute or enable a Sleep mode, the circuits are not there to support those functions. Adding those circuits at this time would mean huge delays and additional, very costly approvals testing since we are already 99% finished with those tests at the lab (and have paid heavily to do so). So, we have "pulled the trigger" on writing the code. It remains to be seen if the new code will be immediately available when we begin shipping but the HMa has a nice little USB port, so you can update anytime we come up with the new firmware. Fair warning - we may yet encounter some other technical problem but we are committing to the change as of this morning. Thanks for all the input - great ideas!
  25. Possible upcoming shoot in Hawaii - any known wireless issues / conflicts would be helpful - thanks! I'm using 19, 21 & 26
