  1. I plan to purchase a boom pole in the 1.8m-2.7m range (6’-9’) that collapses to under 76cm (30”). I’ve looked at the carbon fibre offerings by Ambient, K-Tek, VdB and Panamic. Panamic offers 3 and 4 section poles in this range. Ambient offers only 5 sections, and K-Tek and VdB only offer 6. I realise that more sections translates into shorter collapsed length, but surely there’s a cost in structural stability. I’m pretty skeptical about a 6-foot, 6-section pole. Am I wrong to be?
  2. Is there a boom pole quick release system that will work with heavy microphones? I installed my new Sennheiser 8070 with blimp to the Rycote PCS, but it's too heavy, causing significant play/wobble.
  3. I haven't seen much audio equipment at CineGear, but Really Right Stuff intend to launch a boom pole line soon. Check out the features they are working on in this video:
  4. http://www.locationsound.com/psc-fbpmcc-elite-boom-pole-w-coiled-cable,-8.3-ft.-max.-length-91 I am looking into a 2nd hand one with the internal coiled cable. I would be purchasing it for doco as I have Panamic poles for drama. I would be replacing the end cap with the side exit cap. These aren't available here to demo so I would love to hear your experiences. many Thanks
  5. Just got a custom designed foam insert from mycasebuilder. Highly recommend their excellent service. http://www.mycasebuilder.com Glen
