  1. MKH50/40 Hollow Foam Windscreen

This is my first prototype of a foam “hollow in the middle” windscreen. I like the Schoeps B5d “hollow” windscreen, but wanted a simmular windscreen for the MKH50/40. With the addition of the windscreen to my kit I am no longer limited to my Cinela Leonard or just the standard foam windscreen. One of the most difficult parts to source was a plastic sleeve that would not scratch the microphone's finish. Now for some testing.
  2. Is this a fair comparison for boom work indoors but occasionally outdoors as well? Currently leaning more towards the MKH50 as I'm more familiar with it and its reach makes it versatile plus it has the pad and HPF switches. If I went with the KM185D it would be without DMI-2 box and direct into SD633 (or similar), so many of the advantages of the KM185D's DSP would be mostly lost (?). Kind Regards, Dan.
  3. What's best indoor mic for film/video?

I'm looking to purchase a good indoor mic for indie shoots. I'm considering the MKH50, but wanted to get the opinions from this forum on any experience you may have had with this mic. What other options do you recommend? Thanks! Darlene
