Wandering Ear
I've wanted a better handle for my bag for a while, so last night I made one. I took some 11mm static line, and wrapped it in nylon.

Toy Robot
These types of posts are some of my favorite. I love the ingenuity. Bravo.
soundtrane
If you want to "protect" the corners, you can use some 1" or 1.5" clear heat shrink. Tyco electronics will send you samples...
Audio Daddyo
That is a very cool and comfortable looking handle. I couldn't see trying to mix with that on. Is that just for transportation? Andy
Wandering Ear
i wear my bag as little as possible, so i tend to unclip from my harness and hand carry the bag when moving around. it does sit pretty well out of the way of the mixer, i'm guessing that it won't be a problem mixing with it there. it's also easy to unclip one or both sides if it's in the way. k
John Blankenship
It almost looks like it could be a hand/wrist rest while mixing.
taylormadeaudio
It almost looks like it could be a hand/wrist rest while mixing. That's funny -- I was thinking the same thing... like one of those ergonomic mouse pads, etc. ~tt
Ray Collins
Looks great, do have a suggestion; get some shrink wrap and put it on the Carabiners, if there is any chance the carabiners will ever touch the paint on the mixer or other stuff. There's a product called Magic Wrap a rubber tape that would also work. http://www.glasgowmfg.com/pages/magicwrap.html Works where you would use electrical tape but wouldn't because the stuff bleeds everywhere. Wandering Ear
i was thinking of making my bag a handle as well.. I'm quite interested to see the static line that you used and how u secure it together. The static line is an 11mm rope from black water. I took a length of it and folded it half twice. I then took a cheap colored nylon rope from REI (yes, I'm a Seattlite) tied a timber hitch, and wrapped the handle under tension. Tied the other end off, then using a lighter I melted the small rope ends down to help keep the knot secure, and keep them from sticking out.
