Boomboom
Hey Sen' , recently I offered my dealer to pay $6000 for a 411+SMQV combo and, well, I get the same performances I had with my previous similar combo ... I'm very disappointed since I expected twice the range...
Rasmus Wedin
Great. Those are published prices on the Wisy website, converted to dollars. If they are so inaccurate then why have them up there? If one were interested in buying this gear, what is a normal price range that an individual user would pay when buying only 1 or 2 systems at a time? Without that kind of info (very avail on other wireless systems) we can't make any real comparisons, no matter how great the systems are. Does anyone here own any of this gear? How has it worked out? How much did it cost, roughly? thanks phil p I've never owned Wisycoms, just used them through Rental houses. And I agree with you, it's kind of hard to justify a purchase when we don't even really know the price point of the system. Most dealer that have these in Europe have put a "Call us"-sign instead of a price. Max, if those are not the prices, can you at least point us to a website that has the price for individual Wisycom systems?

Ketchiiing!! Would u really spend 10 000$ for two channels (in 2012)? Imagine try convincing producers about the quality of this for a rental price of 200-300$ a day... studiomprd
Speaking of new technologies, spectrum, and premium units: http://www.broadcast...microphone.aspx in addition to the Big Game, these were also used at the Pro-Bowl http://www.broadcastsportsinc.com/in-the-news/january-2012/bsi-tackles-wireless-microphone-interference-issues-at-super-bowl-xlvi.aspx

studiomprd
" Because I paid twice the price. " unreasonable --or fictional-- expections. BTW the next, and smaller bit of improvement is always disproportionately more costly thanb the previous bigger increment was!

gvid200
So whats the range comparison with Wisycom and Lectros or say 50mw transmitters and 100mw transmitters? I know output power (whatever) but what is the comparison? Do they get blown out if in a bag system with camera hops that are 100mw?
Lancashire soundie
I can just about get the length of a football field (UK) with a Lectrosonics SMDB at 50mW, received by an SRa. That's an empty stadium by the way, I doubt it'd still work if the place was full.
Jon Gilbert
gvid, it's perfectly possible to use 50MW talent TXs at the same time as 100MW camera hop TXs, it's more about frequency coordination than anything else.
TimPitot
100mw hop tx seems excessive. I run mine at 10mw with no probs

Timlin
and remember the rule: Generally speaking, you get what you pay for. Sometimes thats true, but what is true is that never get what you DON'T pay for!
Patrick Wilson
After using my wisycom system for a few weeks now I have to say, they pretty nice. Smooth as a baby's bottom commpander.
