Looks great Jose! What box is that you're using for your lav accessories?

Thanks! That's a small fishing tackle organizer box made by a company called Plano. I find tackle organizers in general work extremely well for organizing small bits and doodads, including lav accessories.

Tackle boxes are the best. I also use them for all my small misc things. I use snap close food containers for the medium size bits.

Thanks! I've been looking at tackle boxes on amazon but in having trouble picking one. So many options! I think i'll need to just make a walmart run one of these days.

Matthew, two other good places to look for cool little boxes and stuff. Best to visit in person, of course:

The Container Store

http://www.containerstore.com/

REI

http://www.rei.com

And of course your local hardware store...

And a bit of gear porn as I prep for my pilot gig next week:

Jose for your bag setup what's the signal flow for your erx? Are you transmitting ifb through your qrx or do you use a camera link?

Also what case do you have your lavs in Thanks

I'm transmitting IFB audio via QRX100QIFB.

It's a lens filter pouch I got from Amazon:

I have since moved to a different solution though.

I live and work in the city so I wanted to put together a very scaled down but effective kit that I could fit entirely in a backpack.  This makes it possible to get on a crowded subway to and from gigs.  I'm using the the mix-pre and QIFB.  I can record a stereo mix to the TRX900AA and send a stereo mix to camera if needed.  The ZAXNET QIFB also allows me to record in the transmitters so I can add more if needed.  I'm using this mostly for doco subject-to-camera and commercial stuff where I only have 1-2 talents.  The DPA 4017 is EPIC and can fit in the pack with the blimp!! super stoked about that.  I've been using it for a month now and so far so good.

Jumped on the 688 bandwagon. I really like this new setup. I finally found a 664/688 bag I actually like.

Very clean bag. I want to chage my setup and upgrade my wireless. That is definitely giving me good ideas! Thanks

Hi, I'm a longtime lurker, I haven't posted yet, really. Here is my current setup. I do a lot of Documentary, corporate, reality, EPK/behind the scenes and Sports TV stuff. Bag setup changes from gig to gig, got a corporate thing coming up this week at a methane plant...

1650 houses everything I need except a few light stands and my larger boom if necessary.

K-Tek Stingray, 633, 2x411s, 2xG3s for hops, Comtek, and Remote Audio BDS. The Incase bag houses my Lavs and all necessary accessories and expendables for them. bag weighs about 15 pounds with batteries for the day in the side pocket and the breakaway stays on for emergencies. The weight has never bothered me.

Got a lot of inspiration from this thread, so figured it was time I put my rig up.

This is a very tidy bag. But I always wonder how people reach the scrolling wheels on the sides when I see a 788T in such a tight bag. My fingers certainly didn't like digging inbetween gear and bag, but I feel I use the wheels quite a lot. Do you work with the up/down keys exclusively? Do you use CL-Wifi? How do you adjust HP level?

Also, what are the markings on the input gain knobs? How well do they stay there?

The petrol bag opens up at the sides, to reach the scrolling wheels. I always use them except for the shortcuts I've made in the menu. No problems at all.

Yes, I use the CL-WiFi on cart.

I adjust the HP level in the only possible way (that I know of), meaning the scrolling wheel.

The color coded markings are just another way of reading 1-8. For me it's easier to remember a color then a number. And my transmitters and receivers have them as well.

Alright, but I should have worded differently: what kind of color or sticker are they? I use color coded CL-8 faders and wireless too (and corresponding colors in the script) but haven't found anything that stays on the input knobs' top.

Ok, got it. They are simple paper stickers, nothing special at all. They doesn't have that plastic feeling that Sound Devices color dots has. I found them in my grocery store. And I painted those colors that was missing.

I put my color stickers on there a couple of years ago, and they are still there. But I guess that would depend on if they get wet a lot.

But since they cost almost nothing it doesn't matter:)
