Michiel
I am hiring two Lectrosonics SMa transmitters with a SRa (?) Receiver. I tested everything out (good thing because of the first receiver output 2 failed). But now I test it again in a quiet invironment, and one of the two SMa's is giving a lot of noise. Also, everytime a -10 or -20 LED blinks a pop sound is audible. Is this device broken? I tried: Changing level, Frequency, Rolloff, replacing battery, replacing microphone, replacing antenna, switch mixer input, Check compatibility (can only switch between hbr and ifb). Help! Argh! I can't contact the company bacouse it's evening now here (Netherlands).

Christian Spaeth
check the SRa for the NR (noise reduction) setting of the two channels.
Michiel
Thanks Christian, I checked it and both were set to Normal. I've now set it to Full but it only helps a bit for the very high noise. Looks like something is going wrong with the digital processing. Marc Wielage
The SMa's are just about noise-free in most cases. I generally do not use the NR modes at all (strictly my choice). I suspect it's busted. A "pop" could also be significant RF interference, but it's hard to say without seeing a scan of the available frequencies on the SRa. Intermod interference could also be a factor.
