jason porter
Hi folks, Here's the problem. I am sending audio to 2 X F900R's (via RF links) and the camera's are sending wireless video signals (1 on each cam) to the director. I am not sure what brand the video Tx's are, but they aren't Modulus, Canatrans or any other big name I've ever seen. These little buggers are adding low-level "hash" to the audio (at the best of times) and big noisy intermod at the worst of times. They are frequency agile (anywhere from Ch 14 to Ch 69) but they seem to cause me problems no matter where they are set (my on-camera Rx's are in the 525-550 mhz range, TV 23-27-ish) The possible clue to my solution is this...the units have 4 different antennae (each for a different freq range, but a WIDE range) for example, the video Tx is on CH 69, the antenna has a range of Ch 45- 69 (as it is labeled) Would it help if I used a whip antenna that is finely tuned to Ch 69?.(like the ones from Remote Audio that I can cut myself) OR could I put some sort of inline attenuator between the Tx and the antenna to weaken the output? Any thoughts? Thanks -Jason BTW, the International Video Rental House here in Toronto has been no help at all.
Flint
What brand/model are your camera RX's? Where are the video TXs mounted relative to your RXs? What distance are you operating from? What are the RF spectrum scans showing? I assume you have tried a number of freqs to rule out intermod problems. You said you don't know what brand/model of video TXs they are using ... might be good to know. Then you can look into known issues (if any). RPSharman
The F900 emits a tremendous amount of RF even without the transmitters. If it is determined to be the transmitters, a little tent made out of black wrap around the transmitter's antenna has worked for me in the past. And keep it as far away from your receivers as possible, of course. Good luck.
