Pat Slater
I have been asked to have a 55fps (sped up ) version of a 25fps wav file for lip syncing to, is there a way to do this, preferably with Mac OSX? Cheers PS
Mark Vesterskov
Yeah, use Audacity, and speed up the file 220% - that should do the trick.
Marc Wielage
Also recommended: Courtney Goodin's excellent Windows utility BWF-Widget Pro: http://www.bwfwidget.com/ If this is music playback, be aware that there are limits on how far the talent can comfortably match their mouths and movements to sped-up vocals. 2X is hard. 1.5X is doable. It sounds ridiculous on the set, but once you slow it back down to normal, the result is startling. We did this on an Elton John video around 1992 or so, and I think not only was Elton the only normal speed person in the frame, I believe we also made him in color and everybody else in B&W. Striking video, can't remember the song title.
Pat Slater
Thanks all. I am limited to using OSX, I found "WavePad" was a simple way of doing it. Had a bit of a play with some music and unless the original is a fairly slow song I think that Marc is spot on, the talent will be pushed to keep up with double speed. I'll suggest tongue twisters for warm up .... Red Leather Yellow Leather....... Irish Wrist Watch..........
