The forum's new look

Recommended Posts

There are things I like about the new look of the forum, just a little bit cleaner, but functionally there seems to be some differences I do not like. The original style had a function button to "Reply with Quote" and this new template is missing that. You can still quote posts in your reply but it looks as if you have to cut and past and use the "Insert Quote" botton (second to the last above the compose post text area).

We'll see if this is really an issue or not. Many people on newsgroups and forums like this (and even including normal email) do not really know how to use quoting properly anyway.

So, let's see how it goes (and if need be, I will go back to the old layout).

I seem to be seeing the new posts at the top of the forum, with the posts getting older as one scrolls down.  Is there a setup where I can change this to having the original post first and the replies below (as before)?

thanks

I can change the display order but I don't think others can. This is all a grand experiment, so bear with me. My inclination at this point is to go back to the first layout and stick with that.

The "Reply with quote" button is not working properly. I will try and fix this (but anyone who knows more about these things, please feel free to suggest).

We are back on the original layout but I think the "Reply with quote" may still be wonky. I will continue to work on it.
