OmahaAudio
" I get contacted all the time by people interested in the L-Type battery power. OmahaAudio
i just bought the dv-sqn4s from england, wish i could've got it in the states... What's the length of the attached cable (or "flying lead" as the English put it) on that unit?
Max Hirtenstein
What's the length of the attached cable (or "flying lead" as the English put it) on that unit? it's a solid foot. i ordered the hirose-dc cable from them for my 680 and it's only about 6 inches however. geordi
I hope you are right, that would make hiding the thing in my bag easier... If it is only like 6 inches, then I will need to either extend it or put the batteries under the 702... Not the most accessible place in my bag. geordi
Back to gear talk... Got the HW adapter today, their "flying lead" is a solid 16 inches or so. The box has 2 power switches on it, so I suspect that each pair of Hirose outputs only feeds from ONE battery, with a step-up voltage to 12v. I will do some tests and report back. geordi
Sorry I never reported back on the voltages. The switches on the DV-SQN4S turn on or off a pair of the 4 mounted hirose outlets, and the battery meter on my Lectro receivers says that they are getting 12.7 volts. I don't believe that this is a step-UP voltage from a single battery, as neither switch will light up if only one battery is mounted in the shoe. Most likely, this is stepping down from the paired voltage of ~16v on the two L-types. If anyone has a USA supplier for these yet, I'd like to investigate getting another one, or maybe the single-battery version for my lectros in my shiny new 633 Stingray bag. Michael Stahr
Some interesting products on the Hawks-Woods site. Interested, but the shipping can be more than the product. Is there a US distributor? Looking for the HW version of the D-tap -- Power-Con connector. They have some very nice connectors, including the M to F pass thru connector. I have the Regulated NP-1 cup and two NP batteries from HW. Work great and the shipping actually wasn't that bad. It rally saves space to have the lead running to the maxx and switches for the wireless all in one. Just remember to pay the customs bill that comes a week later.
