gregkraus
I am going to work on a post sound for a film that was recorded on location with a DV824 on to DVD-RAM discs. What are the options & process for me transferring the audio to a computer? I do not have a DVD-RAM Drive, I have MAC G4 & MAC G5.
old school
All good advise from mike. I would also add that some g4 laptops also read dvd rams as my 1.67 does. Either way importing them into protools is a breeze. Good luck on the project. CrewC
Philip Perkins
If the laptop transfer doesn't work, you can get a DVD-RAM capable external DVD drive cheap from OWC (other world computing). Their drives are very good in general, and I use one of their DVDRAM DVD drives w/ the studio computer. It's both USB and FW and was around $200. It reads my SD DVDRAMS fine.
