Glacierjay
I am looking for some where to buy color xlr cables for my sound cart I am building. Would like to distinguish the different channels by color.
old school
If your in L A, try pacific radio, they have it all. I live in O C and a number of electronic supply houses have the colored cable. My feeling is that they are all around. CrewC
Glen Trew
Most support companies have a variety of colored audio cable and can custom make special lengths/colors. However, if you haven't already, you might consider going with black cable and use colored caps for the connectors. For Neutrik connectors, there are two types of caps. One type must be installed before soldering the connector (and cannot be removed without unsoldering), The other type (my preference) has a flat spot for labling, and can be securely added and changed without unsoldering the connector. Both types are quite inexpensive. Glen Trew
FSBELLA
Glacier jay, if you want custom built colored cables (maybe 18''-3'), check out the psc brand along with the remote audio brand. all good stuff. with a little shameless plug, we sale both brands and can ship to you over seas. (coffeysound.com) good luck, fs

Noah Timan
I am looking for some where to buy color xlr cables for my sound cart I am building. Would like to distinguish the different channels by color. Are you making your own cables or looking for pre-built ones? If the former, Markertek sells Canare StarQuad in all the colors of the rainbow, I believe.
Noah Timan
The problem with those colored Neutrik boots is that they sadly don't fit on the newer Neutrik XLR connectors (which, to me, are far preferable since they still lock but don't have that annoying tab on the male side that always breaks off). I haven't seen any colored ones made for the new-style Neutriks yet, but hopefully they will come soon. Glen, do you have a part # for the second type you mention, or are they also only available for the old-style Neutrik XLRs? For Neutrik connectors, there are two types of caps. One type must be installed before soldering the connector (and cannot be removed without unsoldering), The other type (my preference) has a flat spot for labling, and can be securely added and changed without unsoldering the connector.
