Marc Wielage
Oh, Mr. Deichen and I came up with a good one today: ARE WE STILL ROLLING? on the front side, and WAS THAT A CUT? on the back side!
DWsoundservice
I'm kind of fond of one I found at NAB a few years back, that fits my end of the business. The front says, "Do you really want to know what's wrong?" The Back says, "Or, do you just want me to fix it?"
Brett Sorensen
"Did YOU hear that..?" Far too often, Me: "Hold for plane/train/traffic/dog" Prod: "We gotta go now" Me: "speed" Prod: "Sound, did you hear that?" Me: ..... Marc Wielage
Similar to a line from The Senator, just in the last few days, I was asked, Will that plane be a problem? and I almost answered, Not a problem as long as you don't mind it being on your soundtrack. (But I thought better of it.)
tvaudioman
No limited not being related to sound dept, but years ago I saw the following and have never forgotten it. I'll try be nicer If you'll try being smarter.

Sean McCormick
My stock answer to "Can you hear that?" is, "If you can hear it, we can". Similar to a line from The Senator, just in the last few days, I was asked, Will that plane be a problem? and I almost answered, Not a problem as long as you don't mind it being on your soundtrack. (But I thought better of it.) My client-appreciation shirt this year...

Malcolm Davies Amps CAS
Hardly a week went by when we didn't say that in post, Mike! Too true. Marc The quote is part of a larger one which reads: The sound crew on this film are technicians not magicians. The appendages on the ends of their arms are hands not wands. So whilst the impossible is available immediately miracles will inevitably take a little longer. Malcolm Davies. A.m.p.s.

Reminds me of a small poster we made when I was part of the Air Force Band sound team in the 1990s. It read something along those lines, like: Microphones are not magical. Sound Systems are not automatic (at least the weren't back then!) Audio techs are not telepathic!
dfisk
Did I already mention this idea? "Trust me, I'm a professional." I had a few other ideas for K-Tek shirts: "Your lights are creating boom shadows" "Excuse me, I'm trying to work here" "I am your friend" "this is my BOOM STICK"

Marc Wielage
This has nothing to do with Sound, per se, but I'm sorely tempted to wear it with a few people I know: The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits. atheisticmystic
This one came to me in class last night as the students continued to say "rolling" no matter what I said: GANGSTAS ROLL, SOUND SPEEDS !
Soundwil
For the countless times people use the term 'leads' when they mean cables I've often pointed out: 'detectives have leads, soundies use cables'
atheisticmystic
For the countless times people use the term 'leads' when they mean cables I've often pointed out: 'detectives have leads, soundies use cables' I remember an episode of The Young Ones when Neil refers to the television power cable as a "lead". Is that not a British usage?
