BAB414
Excuse my ignorance, but would it be possible to have a SMPTE TC signal coming out of the 1/8" jack of a laptop? It would be cool if there were a website, program, or app that could essentially act as a giant timecode clock that output the signal from a computer/phone. Ruben Rojas A
Hey BAB there is an app that generates TC don't know how good and how accurate the TC will be but we can allways make tests and see if its Ambient or Denecke worth. studiomprd
To be SMPTE/EBU, it must meet a lot of spec's, including accuracy; the crystals found in PC's are typically not nearly accurate to meet the spec's, and the programs run on PC's (etc) may also be distracted by OS's and not maintain accuracy. ccsnd
Hey Marty, Way cool. What did components cost? I thought about trying to build my own once upon a time....
martyg
Hey Marty, Way cool. What did components cost? I thought about trying to build my own once upon a time.... Couple of hundred for getting set up, and lot of time, weeks of going down dead ends, (blowing up chips, my secondary hobby). Power consumption is a bitch, 10+watts, needs fan cooling, but accurate to a few dozen pixels a day . Just playing with a "cheaper version", running off a coin cell, looks interesting. Still doing calibration tests, really boring but essential
martyg
Just done a calibration check on my slate, it seems quite stable at 6 hours
