DPA 4017

Only heard it at NAB (and we have all discussed that issue already) --- it will definitely be a contender in the same league as the Sanken CS3e and the Schoeps CMIT (with a little bit of the Sanken CS-1 although that may be just psychological because of the size / weight factor). I am hoping for some direct experience of my own or from someone who can actually do some work with it (I know that's what you're asking and I'm not giving a good answer!).

Looks good. I'm curious about it's rolled-off lows (70 Hz) Since it's a DPA that may not be a problem and the thing sounds great, let's see. It's pretty sensitive too (30 mV/Pa)

It could be great if they release a shorter Windpac for it (and other mics) so you can be closer of the sound source, it is just 21 cm long.

A 4017 together with a shorter Windpac can make a very transparent and very light shotgun rig... ok and expensive too
