jonathan chiles
I need to make up a line to mic 1/8" mini to 1/8" mini plug cable for a friend. The output is a Tascam DR100 recorder consumer level line output feeding a 5D Mkii Mic Input. Any pointers for wiring in a resistor pad would be appreciated.. Mr Toline?? Wyatt Tuzo
Hey Jon! Try this: It's a 10dBu to mic level, 40dB pad + input with a 10K in series 100ohm in parallel between + output and ground. (in where the 100ohm is wired on the output side of the 10k)

John Blankenship
For those wanting to learn a little bit about audio circuits: A 10:1 ratio is -20dB, a 100:1 ratio is -40dB, and a 1,000:1 ratio is -60dB. NOTE: These are voltage ratios, power ratios are different.
