Wandering Ear
Came across this browsing on amazon, and thought I'd try it out. A little bit of velcro, and a connector for the bds, and I've got a large voltage display staring me in the face for the days I'm moving a lot and not thinking about my batteries unlessl my headphones beep. http://www.amazon.co...ils_o07_s00_i00

Wandering Ear
Sorry, it's been available for months. Such is the nature of buying on the internet I guess. A search for similar items on Amazon will come up with a few dozen options. I chose this one because it was the smallest that I found, and waterproof. Wandering Ear
yeah, here's a blue one: http://www.amazon.co...ltmeter 4.0-30V thanks for sharing! good find I've got one like this, the only thing is the circut board on tge back side is exposed. The green one i posted earlier is sealed which makes it nice for sitting alone in the bag.
johnpaul215
I noticed they are in different degrees of being built. I actually ordered the "sealed" one you have, but in blue. Supposedly the last one. I thought that one I linked was a bit more built. I also got a very raw .36" one for a project. Unfortunately it might not arrive till January. They only had green when i ordered mine, but blue will match the blue leds on my nomad better. And that of course will make my mixes better
tvaudioman
Johnpaul, do you have a link for the blue one? Wandering: where do you get your power connectors for the BDS?
Wandering Ear
Johnpaul, do you have a link for the blue one? Wandering: where do you get your power connectors for the BDS? I've gotten some from Pro Sound, and some from Mouser.
Audio Daddyo
These Datel volt meters are much more expensive but they are very high quality and very rugged. I have had 2 of the red ones for around 8 years and they still are working great. http://www.datelmeters.com/cgi-bin/webshop.cgi?config=ent-home&uid=wewinlem135439483154&command=link--2-wiredc.html
johnpaul215
I just found them on Amazon. They are through 3rd party sellers so the availability comes and goes. I think all but one of mine are coming from overseas, and might not be here for weeks.
MatthewFreedAudio
I just got two of these in. Did you guys just hook it up to one of the Switchcraft connectors on your BDS or did you use the LEMO connector?

johnpaul215
I am planning to use the switchcraft. I have (fortunately) been pretty busy, so this is on the back burner.

I just got the connector and the LED voltmeter I just need to plug it in, and I dont know the pinouts of the LEMO for the BDS.
ChrisH
I just found this and it is a great way to get the benefits of the RM on the cheap. although the lemo connector you will need wiil run you $28. http://www.amazon.co...=I2NYVK8766TRGO
Jeff Wexler
I just found this and it is a great way to get the benefits of the RM on the cheap. although the lemo connector you will need wiil run you $28. http://www.amazon.co...=I2NYVK8766TRGO Stated: "Note: DC power is needed to power the meter." This may mean that the meter is NOT powered by the DC from the source it is reading. The best so-called "2-wire" meters usually state that the meter is powered by the source it is metering. Otherwise, a separate voltage source, often 5 vdc is needed. The spec for the meter is not clear on this.

Peter Mega
Recently, we had a French crew from New Caledonia visit our set to shoot some "behind the scenes" stuff with our French host. I apologise for not remembering his name but he had a really cool (and very expensive) batt distribution/meter set up from http://www.audioroot.fr/index.php They have some other cool product too. Some of you may have seen this already but it looked great in the bag.

Box goes underneath my top shelf with the ac, and the remote velcros wherever is convenient.
