acdave
I'm looking for an inexpensive setup as an travel backup/covert/DSLR microphone rig. Maybe to jam in a backpack. Does anybody have any real world experience with these things? I've seen them at trade shows and they're tiny! As a last resort for interviews and B-roll, or maybe to throw onto a DSLR or GoPro in a hazardous environment as a camera mike, how badly can they suck for $400? Anybody on this forum actually own one? Thanks! Dave Wendlinger
Rick Reineke
A friend of ours (Chad) very recently did a mic/audio/demo/test/shoot-out using a Go-Pro.
Tom Duffy
Intrigued, until I noticed the non-standard connectors (they literally say in their video manual - a plethora of adapters), and the fact that the XLR balanced adapter needs phantom power, but still requires the batteries in the Mic itself. http://queaudiousa.com/Portfolio%20Items/q-sniper-kit-2/ (he talks about the cables from 9:27) The presenter on their video manual is using a headset mic, but it sounds awful. Not a good sign for a Microphone company.
