ve7kjr
Had the Go-Pro 3 Black mounted right on the shock mount on the Fisher 7 for a few hours on one of our last days on Mr. Young. The executive producer was cool with this. " What are you going to do with the footage" he asked ? "Educational purposes only sir" I replied. This is a short shot but you will get the idea of this pov with the mic in the shot. My main computer is down right now, something on the motherboard went south so trying to do any video editing on the laptop (12 years old) is painful to say the least. Laurence
For those who have never seen a Fisher in action, it would be nice to see an entire scene to demonstrate how the cuing capability exceeds what can be done with a fishpole. ve7kjr
Working on that Laurence, once I get the other computer fixed, also I will have to wait till this episode of Mr. Young airs so I don't give the story away. Phil
Toy Robot
Very much looking forward to the full video when possible. Thank you for sharing, Phil.

atheisticmystic
I cant decide which is more impressive, the athleticism, or the camera work.
Jeff Wexler
Those girls are pretty good... fast but graceful (and fearless). Production-wise, a little wind protection would have been a good idea.
Eric Toline
Take that footage and with a little artful editing & mixing it will work perfectly with "Highway To The Danger Zone" from Top Gun. Eric
John Steigerwald
Great video, though the biker in me can't help but think that bikini top is some serious road rash waiting to happen...
ve7kjr
Thanks Jim, crazy stuff, Jeff, for once I liked the wind noise, not a pleasant sound in our headphones, but worked for the shot. Phil "KJR"
Jeff Wexler
You know, I agree with you Phil --- in a weird sort of way, hearing the wind "noise" (and it doesn't really sound like wind) makes it feel more real. I get it.
Philip Perkins
That orig video is a great advertisement for why Fisher booms are so great for drama. The video with the two women looks like they are in or near the Altamont Pass, east of Livermore. One of them has something in her hand that looks like a Fastrack transponder--I was wondering if she planned to ride all the way to the Bay Bridge? philp
Tom Visser
I used to ride my bike up over the Altamont when I was going to H.S. in Tracy. Took my first Pascal programming courses at Lawrence Livermore Labs. It was fun and dangerous on a bike, not quite as much so as what these girls were doing though. ve7kjr
Jim, your postings inspired me to go back to my footage from work with the Fisher 7. First, I had no track in mind when I shot this, second, never have enough footage, third, I hate editing. I wasn't able to make it all the way to the end of the track so I cut it short. Would like to get some feed-back, Good Bad Or Whatever. I sped the footage up in places so people would get a feel for the action with the arm, cueing, ETC ETC. VASI
Never had a little clue how the "fisher" works. Thank you for posting Phil!
Boomboom
Phil, on the pan handle, there's kind of a bicycle break lever; what's that for ? Never seen that in my former years of booming... (mostly on Moles which seemed to be the norm here in Mtl, but a few smaller Fishers too) I enjoyed that clip ! Thanks
ve7kjr
It controls the tilt angle of the mic. Pierre, there is 110 degrees of tilt at your fingertips, or you can lock-off the tilt angle. Phil
