berniebeaudry
A good value? I know Pro Tools is the defacto standard but I'm not looking to do this on a competitive level. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/audiomastersuite?keycode=64873
taylormadeaudio
Hi Bernie, I've been using MOTU's Digital Performer and Mach 5 for years now. I'm not familiar with the Sony products, but glancing through the specs, this seems like a great deal. Depending on your intended use and frequency thereof, I'd say it's well worth the listed price. If you wind up pulling the trigger on it, let us know what you think once you've put it through the paces? ~tt
Jay Rose
What are you planning to use the Sony software for? In a post situation, ProTools and Nuendo are used as multitrack DAWs with features directed specifically to sound for picture. The Sony stuff you note may be incredibly good, but seems aimed at 2-track music mastering with a little bit of standalone restoration. FWIW, people are using PT for mastering as well. (Nuendo has a sister program, Wavelab, dedicated to that purpose.) But that's a different forum.
