Philip Perkins
Thanks again for tiny footprint, onboard L-mount power, 3-media recording, and darn good audio! All that and the keyboard via CL1 made a hairy day work! The 744 lives, folks. philp
chrisnewton
It works for me every day. so reliable.
RPSharman
Ran my 744T with 442 in a process trailer today. 3 mics in a car. 4 tracks. 20 minute takes. Low talking to all three shouting overlaps. Boy that combo sure holds on to anything with massive amounts of super smooth headroom. I was going to post a thread, but here it is, already here! Sound Devices is pure awesome! Robert
old school
My son Case uses the 744T/442 combo mostly but I still use it on occasion and I'm still a fan. Great gear. CrewC
Rainier Davenport
I have been using my 744 and 442 combo for years as well. I have put off purchasing a 788, but finally made the decision and I pick the 788 CL8 & CL9 on Monday.
atheisticmystic
My favorite combo when my 702t isnt enough.
RPSharman
I just bought another 788T. Now I can't decide whether to replace the 744T in the bag. Either way, the 442 stays. 744T was my first recorder, and it has never failed me. Letting it go would make me sad.
Philip Perkins
You can do a great deal of work with a tiny bag and just a nicely accessorized 744, and you already have it, and it can talk to your 788s on C-Link etc. Here are a pair of 744s linked on C-Link acting as tracks 25-32 of an improvised 32 channel location concert recording rig. The "A" 744 also acted as the TC + clock master for the JoeCo and all the cameras. philp
al mcguire
I haven't been able to let go of the 744 either. Just the ticket for those dslr shoots
bigbenboom
Great minds think alike. I just ordered my 664 and CL-6, but wanted to start a thread about how great my 552 and 744t still are. They are work horses, and I plan to hold on to them for a very long time.
