Olle Sjostrom
http://www.arri.de/news/arri-amira-unveiled/ Arri announced a new documentary style camera. Wow! There's no specification on the audio inputs yet, but it looks like they could be TA3 connectors. Maybe that's a question for Bash to ask at the IBC? Looks nice! I've always longed for a camera to replace the XDCAMs in the ENG world. Maybe that day finally has come...

Jeff Wexler
Seems like an awesome camera! I think we can continue to expect really good things from this true camera company. What a difference it makes when you have a company like Arriflex building cameras.
Eric Toline
A very appropriate name "AMIRA." Mira is the Spanish word for "see or look"
Angelo Waldron
Hello Amira! Goodbye Scarlett...........I keep a shovel in the back of my car for you.
atheisticmystic
Separate display for accessing and monitoring all audio functions Very handy. On single system gigs, when camera and rigging are built up like a transformer, I've had a lesser experienced AC (or worse, a resentful DIT doing double duty as AC) struggle with finding the display to show me audio meters through the day. best
dominiquegreffard
I m intriged by this bluetooth thing.. What price tag should we expect for the camera? And lastly, hopefully there's gonna be a way to monitor return from the 4 channels.
Tapio
Wow! That is one cool camera! I'll swap my XDCAM into that as soon as it becomes available. If only there would've been a slot for SRa and similar shaped wireless receivers.
al mcguire
>A very appropriate name "AMIRA." Mira is the Spanish word for "see or look" < Wait a minute Eric, there is typical and atypical, or symptomatic and asymptomatic, is it that kind of "a" ? Nick Campbell
That looks awesome! I'm happy because it will most-likely have a smaller price point, which means I'll be on more shoots with Arri cameras, which makes my life easier. And the picture looks beautiful, too. Olle Sjostrom
Not sure if there'll be a slot in receiver.. I doubt it. I think they've thought that you should hire a sound mixer for your gigs Edit: Eh and as for hops using a slot in receiver I dunno... Derek H
Not sure if there'll be a slot in receiver.. I doubt it. I think they've thought that you should hire a sound mixer for your gigs Yep, they show an ENG sound mixer in many shots of the promo reel. I wonder if it has the same excellent Ambient TC section as the Alexa? Glad to see another camera with AES3 input.
old school
I'm sure we will see a lot of this camera. Congrats to Arri. CrewC
Ze Frias
This looks great. Can't wait to work on a shoot with it. Also, regarding to the word AMIRA, I don't think it is a spanish word. "Mirar" certainly means "to look", and when used in a sentence it may be conjugated as "mira", but "amira" I believe is not a word in spanish. According to Wikipedia, Amira means Rich or Princess: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amira

Rob Lewis
Man, I just bought Alexa tails. Can we stop recording to camera all together.

soundslikejustin
Man, I just bought Alexa tails. Can we stop recording to camera all together. They will still work. Amira has the same 5 pin XLR input that can accept mic or line level signals. Any input can be routed to any audio track.
OmahaAudio
Damn, it's perfect. Looks like I'll have to trade in the Canon XF100 I got to do some light-weight doc shooting even if I have to mortgage the dog.
