Simon Paine
If I want to plug in a 416 into the front input of a Sony 800 xd cam, do I just need a 5pin to 3 pin xlr cable to adapt it? Is it really that simple ?

jwill
Also a good way to get 4 channels of audio into that camera as isos . ch 1&2 into rear of cam and direct outs 3&4 into y splitter...you cannot monitor ch 3&4 so what i do is send them via my SD 552 as aes signals ...no need to monitor .....all you need is a y cable 2 xlr to 5 pin!1 JHW

Richard Thomas
I rewired a few top mics for F800's the other month- I split the output across both channels on the 5pin, seemed to work fine and have had no complaints
Mungo
416 has no built-in HPF ...
Christopher Mills
I have built xlr-3 to xlr5 cables for this application before.. works fine.. just sending output to both channels..
