Sean McCormick
I hope Petrol makes a more thought-through bag for this one.
Will Youngman
Its a great time to be a sound mixer. I'm just curious what new category of audio device SD/Zaxcom will come up with next? Maybe a modular system that will let you change the inputs, outputs and fader numbers as needed while centered around a core "brain" unite? fieldmixer
Wow. Killer competition for Maxx! Especially since it doesn't have Zaxnet;)
soundtrane
I don't think any unit is a killer of another unit. the maxx has that inbuilt Tx, etc...
studiomprd
" a more thought-through bag for this one. " SD is not in the bag business, and they cooperate with any of the usual "bag" suspects, and a new one... Not only are there Porta-Brace bags currently available, but there is the new K-Tek bag. and, BTW, they stand up!
Ze Frias
Here I am with the new 633 at Gotham Sound, where Pat McConnell kindly answered all of our questions: My thoughts: - Great size; it is a tad bigger than a 302, about the same size as the 702T. - I like that It can run 2 Sony L-Series type batteries, as well as 6 internal AA batteries, which will run for a very long time. However, this adds to the weight, which may not be an issue considering it still weighs less than the 664, 788T, Nomad, or a 302/702T combo. But the Maxx is definitely lighter. - I love that it carries the same great software interface that the 664 has, it's so intuitive. - Same great quality build that the 664 has. - I was a bit worried that the small faders for channels 4 - 6 were going to be difficult to use, but they push out (like the trim and pan knobs) and are actually not bad at all. - It can record up to 6 tracks at 192kHz, which is outstanding. Overall, great product from a great company. I'm sure it will make many people happy. There were only 12 units at Gotham available for sale, and they all sold out within 2 hours from the unveiling. studiomprd
I could have sworn I already read that... did they have the cheese plates in stock ?? I think the cheese needs a bit more "bite", perhaps a little more aging..?
Ze Frias
I could have sworn I already read that... Probably because I reposted this to the ongoing 633 thread in the Equipment forum.
