Matt Mayer
Whitney, I have the same setup, fed from the TA3s. I just checked and my level settings are 34 and 36. Could be some variation between our units that would explain the difference. Here's how I set mine up: Send tone from the 442. Go to the gain set screen. Dial the gain up and down so that the level cursor at the top of the screen is one notch above going to -12. i.e. run the gain down to where the cursor hits -12 and then bring it up on notch so the cursor is at -6. I _believe_ this gives you about 20dB of headroom on the transmitter before you clip. Once you get it set on both channels, pull it out of your bag while working (or testing) and leave it in the level set screen. You can see by the cursor what your input levels are doing to the transmitter. As long as you don't see the limit indicator ( three of the cursor LEDs lit), your levels should be pretty good. If you go back and look there were some pretty good posts about this on RAMPS back in the day. I think I took this method from Glen Trew. ---Matt
