RJBerto
Have a shoot this weekend and they want scratch audio to a Sony EX3. I've never used a comtek as a hop, but this looks like the best option for this shoot. Will an unbalanced 3.5mm to XLR M work as expected from the PR-216 to the EX3? Rick Reineke
Not specifically the EX cams but I've used Comteks to feed other XLR inputs. It should work, make sure the XLR connector is wired for unbalanced operation and set to line. You may have to fork around with the out > in levels to find a sweet spot. Christopher Mills
while you will get a signal, this is a good way to insure that they hate the sound of the ex3. try to send an audible statement at the head of the file that you actually recorded good sound elsewhere If they are doing this to get useable camera audio via hop.. it's not going to work I was asked to do this for an epk, a few years back, and we discovered that you need to use a g2/g3 or lectro wireless set to get adequate quality for single system sound. fieldmixer
Ex3 takes audio very well. I always send two channels to that cam via a proper hop.
