justanross
Hey Dudes, This is a video I made the other day comparing the K-tek Stingray (in size) to the Petrol 607. This is NOT a review. I just thought some of you might find it interesting
Jason A
I've been building my Stingray/Maxx bag as well. I'm really pleased with the build quality of the bag. Side access is great. Weight is fine as well. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the front ridged open "pouch" section. It just adds too much size to the bag imo. I see you put the IFB100 in there. Since I have an IFB 200 I can fit it in the main wireless section, with room for 3 receivers. The only thing I need the external area for is hop tx, which could easily be accomplished with a couple small straps in a soft pouch, or just open. But, everyone has their own needs. I also like the ease of cable routing. Quite a few options to get everything powered and routed without any cables showing. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with for the Nomad. I have an ancient petrol that needs upgrading.

I imagine the one for the Nomad won't be to much different. Probably just a little wider.
dfisk
The idea for that rigid front part was to put an additional two receivers (so you can have up to 6), or IFB TX, or camera hop TX, or BDS, or whatever you want. Kind of a "catch all" place for stuff you might need to get to quickly but not need to get to all the time.
Jason A
I understand the intent of the ridged part, but I think it's more important to keep with the theme of this type of bag set up, which is a small size/weight. In the main wireless compartment you can already fit 3 receivers and an IFB TX. The side pouches are immensely useful and well designed and replace the need for so much room in a front pouch imo. If you really need a front compartment like that, you could at least reduce the depth by half and still have enough room for a couple tx, or rx. Also, with a proper divider built in a bds can easily fit in the side pouches. It's really my only gripe about this bag. cory
I also think that being able to remove the "underpants" with zippers would make the stingray much more versatile.
