robertandrewreid
HELP!!! i updated my Pro Tools v10.3.6 to Pro Tools v11.1.2 and now my "Revolver" reverb plugin, as well as my "FutzBox" modulation plugin are now "not in the plugin folder." I'm wondering where this folder has moved to? (as the new on in my documents, only has presets and maps.) and whether there is an easy way to move all my plugins from PT 10 to PT 11. Thanks! P.S PT manual is not comprehensive, please don't suggest it.
Johnny Karlsson
Any time you upgrade PT, you need to upgrade all your plug-ins as well. Avid's website has compatibility grids, so you can figure out what version works. Try posting over at DUC and you will likely get more help. "P.S PT manual is not comprehensive, please don't suggest it." - Sorry, but I call BS on that one.
Mark Orusa
Upgrading to a new version of Pro Tools and expecting your plugins to still work is like trading in your car for the newest model and expecting it to have all your bumper stickers on the back. One of the biggest problems with upgrading Pro Tools is plugin compatibility, although not as important as hardware compatibility. Ze Frias
When I upgraded to PT11, I was able to still retain PT10. You should as well. Avid understood that because of the new 64-bit architecture and the AAX engine, all of plugins that we may be using in PT10 would not be usable in PT11 unless the developers who make such plugins signed up to make their PT11 counterparts before release, which was a limited number of developers. studiomprd
rar: " P.S PT manual is not comprehensive, please don't suggest it. " it is too bad PT does not have support info, and or support sites, at all... and no Google..?
ccsnd
you have to pay to talk to anybody at avid. I think its $50. There is no technical reason PT11 could not have supported the RTAS format and 32 bit plug-ins. Yes, it might be old bloated code, but it still worked. That is better than not having a lot of those tools at all - which is what we ended up with.
John Blankenship
While I haven't upgraded to PT11, and don't expect to any time soon, I believe Colin at McDSP has been proactive about having all of their excellent plugins ready with AAX versions -- including Futzbox and Revolver.
